Inexpensive supplier of AV wall plugs and plates?

I'm in the process of wiring my house and HT. I have decided to wire everything at once -- Ethernet, Phone, Cable, and a whole house music system.

There are some really nice wall plugs/plates available that allow you to mix and match the above connectors onto single- and double-wide electrical boxes. The problem is: they're very expensive.

Has anyone found a supplier that discounts these items?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

I went to Home Depot and bought my wall plates in bulk. Was much cheaper than buying individually. I installed an OnQ Tech distribution panel to distribute video, phones and communications throughout my house. I purchased all pieces through Worthington Distribution. They have a web site and was very competitively priced.

check this place out:

They make custom plates with any connectors you want, and almost any size. I'm getting a plate made which I'll build into the front of my seating platform so I can hook up external devices (computers, game systems, extra video) instead of having to root around the back of my a/v rack. It'll contain RGB+HV, S-video, component, audio, etc. and I'll run the cables to auxillary inputs on my switcher.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but thought I'd share. Saw them at CES this year, was really impressed

Check out a place called MilesTek. I just bought a rack mount plate that will hold the "snap in" pieces in two rows of 16. I am using regular wall plate plug in pieces into openings in the plate.

They have a great selection of AV products like that.

Hope this helps,

Scott,

I'd also recommend Panduit, their mini-com system I used as the wall plates in my home. I love them, you have to buy through Greybar, by if you go to panduit.com you can download the PDF catalog. They make all kinds of modular connectors that snap into these wallplates. All diffent colors available as well. I don't think they are super cheap but the quality can't be beat. If you want more info I can dig up the old quote I have. just email me.
