Maybe I'm not missing much -- the TV listings on Zap2it suggest they're in full fundraising mode.....
Yes, tropospheric conditions have been active in this area the past few days, but not much seems to be going on this evening (at least per my reception and looking at reception maps). Conditions can change for the better or for the worse within hours this time of year. Yesterday morning I was receiving DTV stations from as far away as Chattanooga, Knoxville and Nashville, TN, Birmingham, AL (447 miles) and Booneville, MS (almost 400 miles). Meanwhile, our local station signals are mixing with these out of market and out of state signals and confusing the receiver/tuner.
A DTV DXer in western IL has been receiving WISH-DT's 15 kW translator signal on RF channel 17, approximately 250 miles. Sunday afternoon I received a 15 kW low power DTV several different times from a little town in Kentucky at over 200 miles. These low power stations can really get out this time of year.
And, yes, this is the time of year for those PBS Beg-A-Thons. Give a $1000 and receive a tote bag! What a deal..................
