Thanks for the comments on WFXB.. We wish they had evening news too..FOX will tell you they do..It's called FOX News Channel, It's what I watch!
I also want say I appreciate WFXB providing us a real time color weather radar over 43-3. We check it every day.
I see that there are some dc powered dtv converter boxes at the store that come with an ac adapter that plugs in the back of the box to run them off ac. With a little thinking, some parts from a electronic store & some work I can make a battery pack to plug in place of the ac adapter & I can watch 43-3 & see the color weather info even while storms rage out side when the power has gone off.
We now have one problem. We have a dc b&w analog tv. I also have 3 analog to dtv boxes. But I when I bought the dtv converter boxes I was not thinking about them as ac only & the ac cord goes directly inside. When in the hurricane season the SC gov was suggesting we have every thing ready for the storms, I have thought of this.
Oh I forgot to ask
Does WFXB have emergency generators & would they be able to keep the color weather up on 43-3 durring a storm when the power may be out?
I was visiting my Grandma & while I was there the TV cable sales came by to get her to subscribe to the tv cable by saying "we even have the weather channel so when the storms are raging out side you can see what is going on". but When we have had big storm come in my Uncle would come by & take my Grandma to his place & He had tv cable. She replied to the salesman. "No when we have had the strom come through & I turn the tv one to see what is going on with the weather & that has taken the tv cable out too. If I have power to my tv my antenna still works". She pointed to the antenna on the roof & said "that works fine, always works & does not send me a bill each month for it".
