How is it that so many in the VW10HT forum are advocating this combination (including Bill Cushman in TPV), despite the fact that it flies in the face of conventional wisdom.
Is it possible that the specific screen (Da lite High Power) is non linear, boosting bright signals more than dim signals, resulting in an effective increase in contrast and improved subjective black levels?
I don't think we can really know the answer to this without seeing this specific combination. I'm ordering a free standing one to try.
Any one hereabouts have experience with this, or using it with other bright projectors?

Sounds like the projector needs to be on a stand rather than the ceiling, which is actually what the company says. Think I'll try it that way.
Guess I've got to stick my own fingers in the flame. I've got a local dealer with a seven day return policy, and I'll try a tripod screen.

Still waiting for my projector, though, and then vacation looms, so it will probably be a while before I'll see how it works. I'll keep you posted.
