I live in neighboring Highland Park with LOS to Mt Wilson plus I am on the 2nd floor of a duplex and have no problem receiving 31. Good signal and consistent.
Replaced my aging RCA integrated hoop and rabbit ears with a similarly cheap but digital age Philips SDV2210/27.
This has fully rotatable rabbit ears and likewise flexible UHF element plus a rotary attenuator as did the old RCA.
What was off-putting was the skinny unshielded wire that does have a 'screw on' connecter.
So that wire is unshielded and needs to be stuck down to stop it moving around once you have an optimal signal for the channels you want.
I get 149 channels using this in combination with the Zenith DTT 901 CECB.
Sears sells these antennas for around 14.99.
As with all indoor antennas the devil is in the set up.
Keep it away from the TV and be patient.
Trial and error will win out.
