I've been able to get a bunch of custom resolutions working (1280x720, 1360x720, 1368x768), but I cannot get any of the standard resolutions (with HDTV timings) to work.
When I use the PS timings that you provided, when I switch to 800x600 my screen goes black. ESC does not escape out of there, and what's weird is that not only does the resolution not work, but the computer doesn't switch back to the old resolution. Instead, it reboots -- and when it boots back up it is at the old resolution. (Usually, you get the "do you want to keep this setting" dialog, and if you don't click anything within a certain amount of seconds it reverts back to your old settings...not in this case -- CRASH)
I reread through the posts, and tried adding the following to my ini file for powerstrip:
but that didn't make any difference at all.
Pentium 4, 1 gig RAM, WinXP Pro w/ SP1, PS 3, ATI Radeon 9700 connected to HDTV with DVI cable, and Sony GWII (KF-60XBR800). Also, the monitor driver I am using is for the Sony GDM-W900.
I REALLY want to get 800x600 (and 1024x768 if poss) running so that I can play games that don't allow for custom resolutions.
ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!
