Yep, I've been ignoring this thread on purpose...

Thank you all for your continued help and support!! :)

I'm giving Milton a few more days. I really hope he ships the PJ early next week like he said to Scott.

It's the last chance for Milton to resolve this very long and painful situation.
If nothing happens then, he leaves me no alternative then to consider the obvious.
In the meantime I hope he contacts me either through PM, e-mail or phone, to explain what's going on. It shouldn't be too hard, these days!

I'll keep you all posted on the situation.

Thanks again all for your help.

How come Milton can tell Scott he is shipping Pedro's projector but Milton can't tell Pedro what is going on? Scam Scam Scam.

If you want to join up with our posse meet us at 6:00 behind Brady's barn.

It'll be a long ride so don't complain if you git saddle-sore.

I'll deputize 15 men and don't expect no wages this ride.

Don't think Mr.L should apply for a PR job :D

Maybe Milton will honor the agreement.
Hope so for Pedro's sake but this is ridiculous even if all goes well.
5 months or whatever it is now is a big joke.
Don't know the way Mr.L will ship it but at this time I would contact UPS, FedEx or whatever. They will handle customs and all that.
No knowledge involved except picking up the phone.
Fredrik,
I know 5 months of wait is purely unbelievable (I've waited ONE year).
I agree with you, but things are not that easy.
I can't speculate about Pedro's case, but Regarding my rip off, I spoke with Adrian many times on the phone. He was a nice guy, highly recommended by some persons here.
The consensus was: Adrian Alexander has some great prices but you'll have to wait quite some time for it...BUT in the end you'll make a great deal.
Many guys had. That, I do know.
I was OK to wait in spite of the fact he kept lying to me ( I thought this was a "seller's" trick) because of the good prices he offered and because I never, ever thought he would ripp me off. I always believed I could get my money back anytime.
Besides he refunded me $5000 (which crook would do that!).
I learned too late he had filed chapter 11 (never told me that) and I eventually lost $13000 .

BTW, sorry if this is OT, but Adrian if you read that, phone me or email. We never talked about what happened and I would like to calmly speak with you- you owe me an explaination, I think.
Pedro, I hope you won't bear me a grudge***do we say that?!?*** for this post.

All that to explain it's not that easy to assess an experience.

Pedro, don't wait for the PJ and get your money back ASAP. I doubt you'll ever have it (did he ever intend to ship?!).
We'll keep this thread up to date until you get a refund (or the PJ)!
Milton, better do it! You still have a chance to get out of this mess without too much troubles.
Thank you all for your continued help!! :) :)

Stephane, as far as I'm concerned your posts are always welcome in this thread and your experience on these matters always important. I'm giving serious consideration to your suggestion.

Energeezer, thank you very much for your offer. Let’s see how this thing unfolds.

Fredrik, I’ve talked to my local office of Airborne to see how to organize shipping. I forwarded all this info to Milton a long time ago. He just has to set up a shipping date (if he wants to) since it seems he has the packing problem sorted out.

Next week will be a crucial one. I’m sure Milton knows that for him the time has come to show if he really wants to honor the deal or not. Further delays will be totally unacceptable.

Lawrence, if you organize a search party, please don't bring the Marquee on horseback. It would loose convergence!! :D

Now seriously, let's see how this mess unfolds. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for all your help!

Ok I going straight to the point.

If you own a domain finest4less.com. There is absolutly no reason he should have an anonymous account. So right of the get go I would have been extraordinarly cautious.

Thank you very much.
Great detective work.

You just made my day! :) :)

Thanks again for your precious help.
Mr. Luban,

you started this thread. Where are you?
BLS,
thanks for your help. I don't want to bother you all with my emotions right now. I'm just trying to make the best of a very painful situation.

Pocatello,
you are absolutely right. Milton started this thread. It's almost a public admission of guilt from his part. One would think he would want to correct the situation. I really don't understand him.

Last weekend I've sent him e-mails to all his known addresses and tried to call him on the phone number mentioned here, without success (answering machine). I told him time was running out, to get out of this mess in an acceptable way. I'm still waiting for his answer. I really hope he answers!

If I don't get it very soon, I guess I'll have to try other ways. At least now we have his address.

I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks again for your support.

Pedro

It's been three days! What's happening man??? I'm dying to know!
Sounds like it is time to pay him a visit for sure. Bet you can collect your money then.
Thanks you all for your interest.

I’m still waiting to hear from Milton. I’ve sent him dozens of mails and so far, no answer.
I tried the cell phone number mentioned in this thread many times but all I got was the answering machine. Messages I've left were of no avail.
Maybe he has a way to recognize my calls.!?

As you know I’m giving Milton to the end of this week to sort out this mess.
I really hope he does.

If not, Monday I will have to start another approach to this matter.

I would appreciate your advice, as to what I should do, to pursue this legally from here.

Two options come to my mind.

One is to try to contact the local police through the help of a forum member who is willing to set up a 3 way call between me, himself and the police and ask them how much support they can realistically give.
BTW, Milton's precinct is http://www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/nypd/html/pct/pct112.html
If anyone knows anybody over there, pls let me know.

The other is to try to contact a lawyer. However I’m afraid that, with the amount outstanding, about 10 grand, it would not be easy to find a lawyer who wouldn’t charge me for almost the whole amount. Please understand that I’m not familiar with legal fees in the US.
And there is always the possibility in the end, that Milton does not have the cash to pay me back.

Anyway I’m already putting together a document with all the relevant information to this case that might be needed in the future. I’ll let you know the topics covered in a future post.

BTW, through a search at Switchboard.com here is what came out:
Moe Luban
9725 64th Ave
Rego Park, NY 11374-2236
(718)459-0085
It matches the other address posted on the forum. The phone number is different.

Please let me know what you think of the ideas above and what would be in your opinion the best way to proceed.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thank you all for your help and support
I think you should take up Energeezer on his offer to fly you there, hire a moving company to accompany you, and show up at his door at 7AM. TAKE YOUR PROJECTOR WITH YOU, and tell Milton to go xxxx himself.
Ahhh Paul. Always such a colorful way of putting things :D That was very nice and refrained though, but I do agree with you.

Pedro, I wouldn't give him a second more. I ca't answer your legal fees, but it sure would be nice if somone would offer you legal assistance as Energeezer offered transportion.

I would think that even if you sue, win, and he doesn't have the money to pay you, you'll feel better, and at minimal he'll have a jusdgement against him. If he's screwed enough people, he and they all stick together, you may have one big case.

I say take his *** for everything you can.
Pedro,

Do you have documentary proof that he sold the PJ to you? If so, I would think that if you were to contact Milton's local Police precinct, they would be able to show up on his doorstep with you - to ensure that 'fair play' is observed (and in the process ensuring that you can take your PJ with you).

One thing I WOULD be careful of it posting too much information about your intent on this board - you can be sure that he is checking the forum and you wouldn't want to show up at his address only to find him and/or the PJ not there.

Above all make sure that everything you do complies with the letter of the law. I'm sure there are US lawyers on this forum that could PM you with some basic advice prior to any trip you might make Stateside.

I wish you the best in your endeavour. Please let us know the final outcome.

Andy.

The FBI has a website where you can report Internet fraud.

http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp

I doubt they would actually do anything. But who knows.
And lets keep this thread on the front page of the forum until this matter is resolved. Sorry Milt.. we're not going to let you get away with this.

For all new readers.. beware of MILTON LUBAN.. do not buy anything from him.

Pedro.. fly over, meet with some forum members who are in Milt's area and are willing to help. Go pay him a visit. Secure projector or cash. Buy lunch for forum members who help. Fly home.

Try and take jrichards with you.. he looks pretty scary. :)
Maybe I could body slam him enough times that he would never do this again. :)
