Well, I doubt I will be able to get the credit too, honestly. I just saw that there is a Comcast customer that bought it that left a review on Amazon about getting it. I asked him to clarify that for me, but he hasn't gotten back. I figure it is worth a shot in trying to get it. All I really have to do is point out in the rate section of my bill that THEY sent me where it says that I will get the credit since I am using my own equipment and they should give it to me. I didn't have to make it up, it's in their official communications to me. I mean, there are no qualifiers like on the other items listed either. In fact, if you look at www.comcast.com/equipmentpolicy, it looks pretty cut and dried that you are supposed to get the credit because you are using your own TiVo, Dave. I mean, it says CableCARD devices right on that page!
Call them and raise hell. I ran some NLR zips through that page and they all say you get $2.50. Anyway, I think they know if I don't get what I want, I will bitch and bitch and bitch until I do. LOL
As far as pairing it, I think it should be pretty easy. If the local folks can't seem to get it done, I feel confident that I can get the Twitter reps to do it. They seem to be able to do a LOT of stuff that is remote capable. If it's something that has to do with the local system being screwed or something needs to be done on premises, then they get the locals in on it. Besides, the NLR office seems to be a lot crappier in terms of customer service than the LR office does, so maybe it won't be as bad. I bet those folks in NLR are leftover from Storer Cable and don't know what a CableCARD is. LOL
Yeah, it sucks the rates are going up. I am not sure why you had to sign up for two years, though. Was it cause the work they had to do on your lines or what? I only signed up for one year just to get the lower rates. Seems odd they wanted to lock you in for that long. Anyway, at least they aren't as bad as DirecTV. Those guys kept jacking the rates up EVERY danged year. I am not sure when Comcast did it last, it could have been a year ago, but it still is loads cheaper. I am pretty happy with the rates so far. That might change though.
