Whats up Arkansas boys? Been a while since I've been on, just thought I'd update. I still get all the LR channels on OTA. Channel 2.1-4 gives me trouble. Seems there is just a small window to lock this channel at my location. If the winds moves the Ant even an inch or two to the side, I lose it. When I've got it locked its about 70%.
I am still on the Arkwest telephone system for my tv. They are in the process of installing Fiber to the house here in yell county. Currently Danville is almost done. They are now in Ola, then going to Plainview. I was told by one of their techs that they would then go to Havana then back to Belleville where I am. That kind of sucks because we will be the last ones to get it, probably another 3-4 years away. The fiber will offer 20MB internet speed. I am currently still on copper and have 512K, could have 1.5MB but dont want to pay the extra 24.95/mo to get it. I purchased a new 59" samsung plasma tv from best buy in Fort Smith last year and set up a calibration thru geek squad. The guy came out with a computer system and it took him about 2-3 hours to set all the calibration. He also gave me a list for his hidden menu settings and told me how to adjust a few things if I needed to in the future, he was a pretty cool guy and seemed to really know his stuff.....seemed a whole lot smarter than me. During calibration he looked a bit puzzeled, then he asked me who my tv provider was. I told him it was internet protocol tv thru Arkwest Communications. He said it was the clearest picture he had ever calibrated. He said his readings were showing blu ray/1080p levels and he had not ever encountered a provider who was pushing 1080p for normal programming on every channel. He said he was shocked at such high PQ levels from a provider. The HD/STB/DVR's output does have changeable output resolutions to feed to the tv thru HDMI. Mine is set to 1080p/60hz. I suppose 1080p/120hz or 240hz would look even better although a plasma can techincally handle 600hz....that would be nice, maybe someday
