Well with Fox news you never have to worry about who they will represent in their unbiased news cast LOL

like you said I worry when one company owns it all telling us how to think and what we need to do next.
Ok they don't own it all but give them time. In case you don't know I HATE the business model in the US now and how all politicians are owned by them.

hey 58.1 went off the air a few days ago and is nothing but a blue screen now.
I'm not getting 47.1 and 47.2 any longer, or 58 for that matter. I did briefly get a signal spike to 45 on RF channel 16 (58.1), but no lock. I'm wondering if they relocated those transmitters?
Im not so concerned with the news coverage, since there will still be KATV and KTHV. What I am concerned about, is when the retransmission agreements come due, and Nexstar holds DirecTv, Dish, and Comcast hostage for BIG increases or we lose 4 stations. Its happening all over the country.

I can always watch OTA, but many cant, or wont.
you mean just like viacom last week wanting double.
TV is sooooo Fing overpriced its crazy.
And to top it all off they say they are just a retransmission service you are paying for.
That way you get to pay for all those great commercials.

I'm trying to help my folk who live in Little Rock and now have Comcast. Is there anyway to view Cardinals baseball games in HD other than purchasing the MLB Extra Innings package? They enjoy the Cardinals so much but are finding themselves watching games on the MLB Network as the really like the HD Broadcast. Thanks you for your assistance.

Thoughts as to what this will mean for news gathering, and station operations? Seems rather bad for one company to own 4 major stations in one DMA.

Actually, KLRT and KASN will be assigned to Mission Broadcasting but will be controlled by Nexstar via shared services agreements.

The only way to get the Cardinals in HD in Little Rock, that I am aware of, is to get DirecTv and subscribe to their $12.99/mo sports package. Cardinals are blacked out here on MLB Extra Innings.

For anyone interested, the lastest and greatest in streaming boxes in now taking preorders at http://www.vizio.com/costar/overview/

All the major players in streaming, a full HD chrome web browser with HTML5 and Flash... SHould about cover anything you want to stream.
Remote even has a laptop style mouse trackpad, and full keyboard. $99.

Worth checking out if you are in the market for a steaming box to supplement whatever you currently have.
It will be replacing my PS3 for Amazon Instant Video, and HULU.
heard a little about the box last week.
They said they saw a demo of it at some trade show but it was not ready for prime time.
I was looking for another netflix box but it didn't mention it.
BUT the picture you linked shows it in the bottom left hand corner of the screen in the background.
It looks like a winner and the price is right.

found another article and they said netflix is one of the main features and is on the top button list.
one of the others was getting changed but will be in the menu.

remote was great and with what you said laptop style mouse trackpad its a big win....I think tivo charges about $60 for that

Connections include two HDMI ports (one in, one out), Ethernet, and a USB port for hard drives, keyboards, or other peripherals. There's 802.11n wireless built-in, too.

USB hd H.264, MP4, MKV

ok check out the full specs at http://store.vizio.com/costar.html#techspecs

I am in.....THANKS DAVE

help me out here, you said hulu are you using hulu plus ?
I know I looked at it when it first came out and said (for example not real numbers) you get 10,000 shows and movies for free with ads or you can pay them $$$ and get 4,000 shows and movies with ads.
HOW is this worth it, less and you have to pay and get less movies and shows and still get ads?

Has this changed much since release?

Noticed a couple hours ago that 49.1 (METV) is sending no audio or video. Still nothing right now. 20.1 (same RF freq.) is normal. Hope they come back soon. I was getting used to watching that channel OTA instead of on satellite BUD.

Edit: Later 20.1 disappeared from the stream and 49.1 got mapped in its place. Currently (10:45 PM) 20.1 is back and METV (49.1) is frozen picture. They clearly have a problem cause as I type this 20.1 is METV again and mapped as 49.1. Locked up my TV when in the EPG screen so guess I'll' go to bed and check it again in the morning.

Edit2: As of this morning (7/29/2012) the KKYK/KMYA SNAFU continues. TransEdit (computer software) shows that the Service Information (SI) is missing for KMYA (METV-49.1) and 20.1 (KKYK) is identified as KMYA. There is no entry in the TVCT (Terrestrial Virtual Channel Table) for the "real" KMYA. This confuses 2 of my TVs. However, DVBViewer/TransEdit is able to "guess" what to do with the bad SI and shows both channels fine. To quote the old lady in the Wendy's commercial " I don't think there's anybody back there!"

I have free hulu though the PlayOn UPNP server. I have no clue what is included with either version of Hulu, as PlayOn adds their stuff into all the other channels PlayOn lets you access.
Between PlayOn and Amazon Instant Videos ($79/yr with free 2nd day Amazon shipping) is all I need for my streaming needs at the moment. Ive never checked Hulu Plus out.

I did a rescan and looks like 49.1 KMYA has also moved to 20.2 with same call letter and programings. I also get two new channels 8.1 KNOE-HD and 8.2 KNOE-CW with blank screen and no audio. Will report back if any new development occur.

Apparently, they (KKYK/KMYA) still don't know they have a problem and the SNAFU continues. The service info keeps changing around every few seconds. Sometimes it's right but then within a few seconds it's bad again. Some TVs dynamically tune channels (my Vizio does) and can't handle the broken service info. My Sanyo doesn't dynamically tune (just uses results from last scan, haven't scanned since SNAFU showed up) and it is not effected since it doesn't use the new SNAFUed service info.

well guys I have never seen this before.
49.1 KMYA and 49.1 MeTV at the same time ??
I was clicking channels and hit 49.1 up 49.1 up 2.1

wait what the ?

I went back down and the 2 49.1's are 10 seconds out of sync.
After about 10 minutes I noticed one said 49.1 KMYA and the other one said 49.1 MeTV

how do I have 2 49.1 channels ???
Bad Service Information (SI). Both streams are there but some TVs don't like the broken SI. Same SNAFU I was describing above. Maybe they will discover/fix it tomorrow If they have an engineer that can figure out what is wrong.

Wow, that is almost 200 miles from here smile.gif

Did a rescan and as dmatch said we have two MeTV channels (20.2 and 49.1). And the Monroe channels are all gone. I was also getting PBS channels from El Dorado (KETZ) this morning and it is gone too.

Yea. You can always check this site: http://aprs.mountainlake.k12.mn.us/ to see if Arkansas is experiencing any skip, and which direction(s) it is coming from.
I regularly pick up Texarkana and Mississippi stations here in the mornings and evenings.

Thanks for info.

I am guessing antenna orientation also dictate which skipped stations one will pick up. I am using a dipole [indoor] antenna and looks like its reception is in north/south corridor.

Just noticed that it appears ThisTV has replaced CoolTV on 16.2. Lots of older movies. When did this happen? I have watched it some on BUD satellite but OTA will be much easier access.

Edit: Just found this info on This TV coming to Little Rock.

Just started today.

This TV was previously shown in Little Rock on what was then KKYK (now KMYA) during the first half of 2009. Afterwards, it has not found a home in Little Rock until today. There were unconfirmed reports of a subchannel 42.2 with This TV, but that station never aired This TV on any subchannel. Bounce TV was placed on 42.2 when it was launched in Fall of last year.

I received confirmation from a contact listed in an FCC application that KKYK/KMYA (RF 20) know about their channel mapping problem. They experienced a PSIP generator crash over the weekend and have tried to rebuild the system "but there are still some issues." They are expecting a new PSIP setup Wednesday (8/1/2012).

KKYK/KMYA (RF 20) seems to be back to normal now. A well done to them. Weak signal here but it has always been barely lockable for me (30-40% quality - 28 required to hold lock).

As of now, I get 2 MeTV channel (KMYA-DT) on 49.1 and 20.2 with the same programing and call letter. 49.1 have slightly less signal strenght than 20.2.

I also get a spanish channels in HD on 47.1 with call letter KMYA-LP with MUNDOFOX logo that have different program than UNIVISION spanish channel on 20.1. May be we are going to have a new spanish channel.

If you get lucky, you might be able to get english text via caption options on spanish channels. But the caption run so far behing the spoken langauge that it get frustrating.

The new Mundofox channel on 47.1 seem to have same signal strenght (medium) as MeTV on 49.1. I wonder what is the plan for the duplicate MeTv channel on 49.1.

Hey Everyone,
I'm experimenting with OTA to get off of Comcast, once and for all. I'm in the Little Rock area - zip code is 72207. While I can get the major networks fine, I was wondering if PBS 2.1-2.4 is possible?

I can't seem to lock on a signal for PBS, I'm guessing because its low power VHF? Does anyone have a antennae recommendations that I could pick up at a local store? I own my own house and while I've been using and indoor antennae I'm sure an outdoor would have better results.
actually PBS is broadcasting on channel 7 (but remaps to 2)
The issue looks like most of the stations are broadcasting WNW of you (279 or so on a compass) but PBS is SSE of you (162 compass)
here is a tvfool for the zip at 15 feet
