FPS and Consoles - Page 2

OK. I thought maybe you were talking about that. I used to use a Logitech PS/2 mouse and the Driver allowed Report Rate adjustment. Default rate was about 30 times/sec but was adjustable up to 200. Games were much smoother at 100 or above. I've always heard of typematic rate as the rate at which a character is repeated if a key is held down if you are typing. Thus the name 'typematic rate'.
I use a USB keyboard. USB polls at about 100 times/sec so I have never noticed any lag in my keyboard.

The only thing I can see being a problem with a USB keyboard is if one allows the BIOS to control the USB keyboard and mouse or the operating system. Being that my main PC has no PS/2 support (but it does have 10 USB2 ports and 4 Firewire ports) the BIOS needs to hand this in order for me to interact in the BIOS.

Sometmies I feel like I'm surfing in Counter-Strike when I go around a corner sideways. Of course, opponents find this annoying.
