Time Warner Cable's agreements with programmers and broadcasters to carry their services and stations routinely expire from time to time. We are usually able to obtain renewals or extensions of such agreements, but in order to comply with applicable regulations, we must inform you when an agreement is about to expire. The following agreements are due to expire soon, and we may be required to cease carriage of one or more of these services or stations in the near future. BBC America, Cooking Channel, Current TV, DIY, Encore, Encore HD, Encore Action, Encore Drama, Encore Love, Encore Suspense, Encore Family, Encore Westerns, Food Network, Food Network HD, Indieplex, Gol TV,Great American Country, GSN, GSN HD, Music Choice, NHL Network, NHL Network HD, NHL Center Ice, Retroplex, Starz, Starz (West), Starz Cinema, Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, Starz HD, Starz in Black, Starz Kids and Family, Starz Kids and Family HD, Starz On Demand,You Too TV, Zap2It. In addition, from time to time we make certain changes in the services that we offer in order to better serve our customers. On or after October 1, TWC Sports Network and TWC Sports Network HD will be added to the TWC Sports Pass on channels 313 and 1313; TWC Deportes and TWC Deportes HD will be added to the TWC Sports Pass on channels 314 and 1314. These services will require two-way capable digital cable ready equipment, such as a Time Warner Cable-provided set-top box or a CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Product (UDCP) used in conjunction with a Tuning Adapter. Other UDCPs may not be able to access these services without additional equipment, such as a set-top box. Effective November 1, Fox Movie Channel will be made available on Digital Variety on channel 279; Fox Business Network and Fox Business Network HD will be made available on Standard Cable in digital format on channels 353 and 1353. On or about October 23, the following changes will occur. WGN America, OWN, C-SPAN and Golf Channel will be delivered in digital format only. These channels will remain in their existing package, and will continue to be viewable with a digital set-top box, Digital Adapter or CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Product (UDCP). In addition, WGN America will continue to be viewable on digital TVs (and other devices) that include a QAM tuner. Some channels will change locations - C-SPAN moves from 41 to 64, OWN moves from 46 to 63, TV Land moves from 64 to 41 and Syfy moves from 63 to 46. Also, we will be making technical changes to our cable system that may disrupt the ability to view the following unencrypted ("in-the-clear")

Hmm TWC is cooking up something they are getting ready to start deploying DTAs!

Time warner cable is opening up:

15 (129MHz)
63 (459MHz)
64 (465MHz)
65 (471MHz)

for digital services while launching DTA's so maybe they are getting ready to launch more SDV QAMs in Kansas city for a total of 24 instead of 16?

346/1346 NFL Network and 347/1347 NFL Red Zone
Lakers Network in English and Spanish will be here on TWCKC on Monday.
Nothing new in latest Comcast Bill that's important only Starz P. Channel added to Triple Play Package on 9-27 so no changes happening but if do they will just pop up as usly like Channel Additions or moves.
On October 23 TWCKC is moving QAM Local Channels around.
http://www.kansascity.com/classified-ads/ad/2046040#storylink=misearch Lots Changes even new Fox Channels
Of course Time Warner Cable announces the launch of beIN USA and Espanol in both HD and SD on 11/1.

TWC handles HD additions like no other company in the nation - and they have over 200 (Yes, 200) HD channels. They are certainly the industry leader.

After having only antenna tv for years, I recently subscribed to TW Cable.
What I ordered was Basic Cable plus HD DVR and "HD Service" along with 10mb Internet.
According to the channel line-up
http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/tv/channels/channel-lineup.html
I thought I would get all the digital channels but the only HD channels I get are the locals and TBS

1003 KCTV
1006 WDAF
1007 KCWE
1008 KMCI
1010 KSMO
1011 KCPT1
1012 KMBC
1013 KSHBHD
1016 KPXE
1202 TBS HD

plus MeTV, etc on lower channels 965 - 985. I am glad I'm able to get ThisKC on cable at least.

I only have a component cable connection between the TV
Toshiba 57H83
and the settop box Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HDC

I tried connecting an HDMI to DVI cable to the tv, but I got a message that the chosen tv input wasn't compatible.
Can I not get any of the other channels like SYFI and DIscovery channels without either a newer tv with HDMI, or subscribing to the "Digital Channels" package?
I thought I would check here before calling time warner, as I doubt this is a common problem and I would have a hard time describing the issue to a tier one support rep.
I suspect that your inability to get SyFy and Discovery is because of your cable package rather than your component connection. But I would confirm with twc that those channels are not in your package.

If your tv has a DVI connection, I imagine it also has composite video connections. Composite connections support HD up to 720p, which will give much better quality than component. TWC should provide composite cables with the DVR. I got a cable with my DVR (even though I use HDMI).

I think you have composite and component mixed up. composite is red, white and yellow for left, right and video. Component is green for Y ( chroma/sync), blue for Pb or Blue - Y, and red for Pr or Red - y.

I do need to talk to TW soon. I'm paying too much for just a few channels

The way I interpret their system is you have to start with the standard tier, not just basic, to add the full digital lineup. If you are getting the locals in HD, then there is nothing wrong with your hookup to the tv.

Oops. I'm aware of the difference, but for some reason my eyes saw one word and my brain saw another. To clarify, twc provided component cables with my DVR. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't just provide composite cables. Then I threw the cables in the drawer and used a HDMI connection.

It's so if you don't get Sports Pass you won't get those Channels in HD same goes for other Digital Channels but you will all Analog Channels that TWCKC has in HD turned on in 1000's that same goes for Comcast in1/2/8/9 Hundred's. Looks like Comcast is launching Bein Sports English on 12-12 but don't get into end of the month to see if wee are getting it in December with other Changes.

Ok, thank you, that does make sense.

I already had the component cables, but I read somewhere that they are supposed to supply an HDMI cable if you need one, which is nice too.
Unless I change stuff around, a straight upgrade to standard cable is an extra $45. Right now I pay less than $100 for 30mb Internet and and HD-DVR with basic cable. If it was just me, I'd live with it, but my wife is disabled and is home all day, so I guess I should bite the bullet.
Well, TWCKC did indeed change their channels around. For those with standard tier, receiving clear QAM channels just means rescanning to find the local digitals. They are still there, even though the FCC has said they can scramble them. But for those with basic, the digital channels are unavailable, falling in the group of channels filtered out with the standard tier analogue channels. What a shame!

I am pretty sure TWC will reshuffle the locals soon because customers with an HD box on broadcast basic have lost the locals in HD so everyone needs to call in and complain saying they lost the locals to get TWC to fix the issue. I know TWC in my area has the locals on QAMs that are not trapped out. TWC should be putting the local QAMs on 95-99 or change out the trapped range. If TWC is hurting that bad in Kansas city for QAM space they need to convert everything to digital or move more stuff to SDV or how about moving SDV QAMs into the trapped range which would be a good idea as there are no channels in Kansas city that need to be in the non trapped range for digital cable beside the locals.

Here is what TWC North Texas has for local QAMs:

Do they have any of the Fox cable channels yet?
I have Time Warner Cable Kansas City. The basic package channels, so no HD or DVR. But I have a Sony tv that picks up some digital channels like CBS-HD. I believe it has a QAM tuner. Anyway, the channels seem to move around or the numbers change or something and it's hard to keep up. Does anyone have the most recent channel listing for the QAM channels? I can't find Fox or ABC. But I found CBS and NBC.

thanks
