DST-3000 resets after power failure?

This is unreal. I just got confirmation from Toshiba that when you lose power to you DST-3000 it will go to factory default settings. You then need to reset all of your channels that you receive locally, the favorites that you might have set etc. etc. This just seems totally bizarre. Why would they design it like this?

I'm with you on that one! I guess you and I won't move it around to much, (now dusting and spring cleaning will be a problem!). It took awhile to set up my favorite channels list, and all gone like you on a re-plug in!

I'm just speechless on this. It seems unbeliveable that they would design it this way. I'm leaning towards putting it on a UPS. Of course that means I'll need to set it up again for sure. What I want to know is what idiot decided to design it like that.
