I'm helping a friend in Lansing Mich. set up his system. The best signal we could get on Sat 119 was 43 (101 was fine). We could not even pull in channel 100. I went into set up and started changing transponders and when we went to transponder 32 on 119 the signal strength went to 60. Channnel 100 came in fine and subscription process with Direct TV went with out any problems. All channels come in fine. His HDTV isn't in yet, so we don't know how HD is?? We are going to fine tune the dish and improve the signal, but my question is--what does a transponder change do to signal strength??? Any suggestions??
