As mentioned a small price to pay to be an early adapter.

I think most would still want to get their units in their hands now so they can play and fix it them selfs instead of waiting a few more weeks.

I'll probably lose about 1500 of them when the Iraq Crisis section gets dumped, assuming that that will remove all of those posts from our post count.

OK, it's unbelieveble and breathtaking that no one has yet got the thing up and running the way it's supposed to run long enough to properly test it and report back here. But it's just a matter of time.....

When was the fan introduced? It was my understanding that there would be no fan. What DB @ 4'? If the fan is noticeably noisey it's going back!

Frankly I'm getting skeptical...

I couldn't hear the fan at 2'. Of course the unit shut down after 5 minutes of operation because it overheated, but I don't think the fan which is only for the power supply, will be an issue for many. The fan noise won't be an issue for me based on what I heard in the time I had the unit. It is on the bench at KD now being tested. When I get it back and get things working properly I'll post my impressions and photos.

I think the fan is just part of the power supply. Not like the big pc fan that the Digital Leeza had. But I'm waiting like you are for the real scoop.

Alan the fan is mounted on top of the power supply. It only took me 5 minutes to fix the problem we had with the fan.
Worked perfect after the fix. Unless your right ontop of the unit it is silent.

I think that the old Leeza had 2 or 3 fans which could make it noisey. I had one of the original ones without the updated faceplates and after I sent it, for a minor bug, they modified it to quiet it down which it did

Mine is coming today, I am looking forward to some experimenting over the weekend. I'll certainly post results.

Is there any way to tell if the fan is working correctly before installing? Air flow direction? I would like to just plug it in and be able to check the air flow prior to hooking up all the connections.

Also, since the unit is coming from AVS will I get an e-mail on the fix.

Looking forward to playing with it.

The fan is completely un-noticeable. I plugged the unit in to make sure the fan was working properly before installing it. I had to put my ear about 3 inches from the top vent on the unit to hear it running. Don't worry..... I will be installing it with a G90 tomorrow, too bad I didn't have a Faroudja to do a side by side.

Just set it on the counter and plug it in. Let it sit for an hour. If it does not shut down your all set.
If you have any trouble call me. Its easier to walk you through it.

Someone should rename this thread now that the HD Leeza is shipping and shortly to be reviewed in detail by the lucky members that have them.:)

I agree...Alan, would you like to do the honors in an 'offical' way?

Why not start a separate thread and move the discussion there?

I think most of this thread contains our wishes that the product come out already.

This is just the right time to create a new thread with reviews, questions, etc. that are relevant now that the product is shipping.

What do you think?
