WCIU used to be the best for baseball OTA, but not since they added MeToo. Lost all it's "3-D-ness", more noise and fuzziness, and I had to turn the sharpness (along with the noise reduction) way up tonight for the Sox game. Didn't look all that much better than a good, SD DVD to me and lost that "looking out a window/you are there" look that at least the Sox games (not so much the Cubs) used to have. Looked like a one-dimensional painting. I'm very disappointed to say the least, as I had really gotten used to the high quality after they went 720p. Believe it or not, even the OTA analog feed looks better on my 50" Pio with older, B&W, native SD material at times. It doesn't have that same "fuzziness". Don't know if the difference shows so much on Comcast, though.
I'm very picky about PQ, and one of the main reasons I finally decided to go HD was the OTA HD PQ, mostly for sports, PBS-HD and the late-night talk shows, along with maybe a couple of primetime shows. Never had much interest in movies, Hi-def or otherwise. Now that's steadily disappearing as they add all these new subchannels on PBS and WCIU (never cared about anything PAX had to offer anyway).
Don't have any interest in satellite HD, or Comcast either, since they're starting to really degrade the PQ now, too (if it hasn't reached your area yet, it will). With the programming and PQ they offer, to me it's not really worth the prices they charge.
Seriously thinking of selling the Pio now and going back to a smaller CRT. Everything still looks great on the 32" analog in the other room.
