CNN-HD moved to 825Mhz (129), tripled with AMC and Vs/Golf.

On what headend?

On the Homewood headend here in Crestwood, it's channel 74 in analog, 255 in digital, and 256 in HD.

Men in Black was on last night and it was not formatted correctly. When does TBS ever correctly handle HD formats?

//NEWSWIRE
//AUG 14, 2008

On August 19 Comcast will launch 15 HD channels in the city of Chicago.

In addition to the Big Ten Network HD, this bumps the city of Chicago from 38 current HD channels to a total of 54 HD channels, beating U-Verse which only offers a total of 49 HD channels at this time.

The new channels include: Weather Channel HD on Digital HD Channel 270 which is a simulcast of the nationwide weather channel feed; FX HD on channel 267; Fox News Channel HD on Ch. 265; Bravo HD Ch. 278; CNBC HD on Ch. 266; and QVC HD on Channel 282. These will all require subscription to Digital Starter.

We also are launching Independent Film Channel HD on Ch. 280; WE HD on Ch. 281; Fuse HD on Ch. 279; Encore HD on Ch. 263; and Fox Business Network on Ch. 264.

Customers will need a subscription to Digital Classic.

We are also launching four HD channels on our Sports Entertainment Package including: NBA TV HD on Ch. 235; NHL Network HD on Ch. 234; Hallmark Movie Channel HD on 227 and Speed Channel HD on 237.

Really wish SpikeHD would've been included in there but it's good news.

Does anyone here get GolTV? Just the SD channel. It's weird/annoying that they offer OnDemand highlights of it, but won't offer the channel in my area (NW burbs).

Also annoyed that we didn't get the HD soccer and basketball channels. Other Comcast areas and the satellite companies got them...

Yeah, I get GolTV. It's channel 268 here in Schaumburg, and right now they're showing a Columbian game.

I live in Aurora, I'm hoping this includes us on Tuesday. Now I got my hopes up, it better include us.

My understanding is that these channels will be added in all ADS areas.

Does anyone maintain a current list of HD channels (and channel numbers) on Comcast in the Schaumburg area?

I'd like to put a list together because I'm losing track and it seems they are jumping around a little bit with the coming additional channels targeted for the 260's, 270's and 280's.

Thanks.

What is the cheapest way/package to get Comcast HD with a DVR? Is everything over $50 bucks a month? Does Comcast have anything to compete with Dish Turbo HD?

GOL TV (ch. 268) is part of the Sports and Entertainment package. Nice change of pace from Fox Soccer. A lot of Bundesliga.

What is going on with tonights feed coming from WMAQD (HD) for the olympics. Its IS AMAZINGLY the BEST HD I have ever witnessed! There is almost NO pixelation or macroblocking when watching the Olympics tonight.

I wish HD was ALWAYS like this!

What time of day does comcast typically add new channels?
Are we sure these new channels are only being added to Chicago proper? I'm out in Cary, but I'm not holding my breath for new channels.

A guy can wish though, right?
We'll see in less than 4 hours if those new channels'll be added in areas other than the city of Chicago proper.
I wonder when they will actually be added. I'm sure it won't be right at midnight
post #7192 of 10823
Just saw the commercial claiming Comcast has 500 HD channels in Chicago. Is that true?

I think they count every OnDemand HD program as a "channel" to get that number.
Yeah, it's total false advertising... they count HD "choices" not channels

Anyone in the city get the new channels yet? There's nothing new here in Schaumburg as of 6:00 am...

At 6 AM I didn't have them either, but they're here in Chicago Area 2 now.

BTNHD, FBNHD, FNCHD, and FXHD are in 720p; the others I receive are in 1080i.  NHLHD, TEAM, and SPDHD are not in my service level, so I can't comment on their resolution.

WE HD was showing an upconverted "Dharma & Greg" rerun in spreadvision ... good thing myTV has a setting that corrects spreadvision to 4:3.
Comcast rep said that channels will be added in all areas, but I don't take anything they say for granted

New channels have been added to channel lineup on comcast.com for Chicago zip codes.

I'm able to get HD NBC5 on my TV (which has a QAM demodulator), but I get no audio. My TV is a Sharp LC-32AV22U. Has anybody seen this problem? I have Comcast in Schaumburg, IL
