I just got in my new AR2.7T for our demo room. This is their new direct view xga monitor. They also have a 32".
It is a 4x3 monitor. Joe Kane gave it his blessing.
The first thing I did was to hook up 1080I from dss. The picture is stunning. The colors are the first thing that grab you, the best I have seen. I also have the 16x9 unit but this is much sharper and the color is more vibrant. The reds are really red. I Wish I could get these reds from my d ila but I have never seen color like this from any f/p technology.
This unit has 2 15 pin rgb inputs and one output. It also has a cable tuner biult in alone with the typical video and s input.
It does not have component in.
It also has plenty of geomitry controls thru the on screen menue. The unit is also very bright.
You can set this up for anamorphic or 4x3 or anywhere in between.
I also browsed the internet in 800x600@72hz.
The image was clear and sharp. No misconvergence what so ever right out to the corners.
This makes a huge pc monitor but but Im really blown away with the hd performance.
I highly advise anyone looking into a hdtv/pc monitor not wanting to spend big bucks this is the unit to go with.
I really mean this. You will be blown away. I like the picture better than the UM 16x9 monitor.
It also has a biult in line doubler for upconverting standard telivision and has stereo audio with a biult in subwoofer.
Im sure you will find street price around $1500 for this unit.
If you have any questions or want more info drop me an e mail.
