THX adds nothing except a THX Optimizer Video and official certification, the XL4 also gets you the premium backlit Glo Remote
the Premiere 4 and XL4 have identical hardware except the HDD size, Premiere 4 = 500GB (75HRs HD), XL4 = 2TB (317HRs HD)
You can also upgrade the Premiere 4 HDD yourself if you want to 2TB using JMFS Live, http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=455968
you wouldn't save much money, but you would have a spare TiVo HDD if ever a HDD failure. But I would recommend the XL4 and the extended 3yr warranty for $39
Amazon usually has the best prices for a Tivo, BestBuy now also will price match Amazon. TiVo may have a bundle sale when they launch the Mini, soon.
Wireless works fine for the TiVo itself, but if you want to Stream between Premieres or Premiere to Minis you need a very good WiFi set-up preferably Dual Band N. Wired Ethernet or MoCA are the only officially supported networking options for Multi-Room Streaming. Single Band 2.4GHz Wireless N does not work well for Streaming full HD MPEG-2.Edited by Bryan_CoxPHX - 3/7/13 at 3:30am
