I've only had HD for about 3 weeks now but the Samsung indoor antenna I've been using has been pretty good - until this week. I'm having a lot of trouble getting channels 4 and 5. Has anyone else seen the signal strength go down this week? (I live in Burke by the way)
It has been my experience over the course of 2 winters, this the 3rd, that Fox5 becomes a challenge once most of the leaves drop from the trees. This is really just the opposite of what I would expect, but apparently the leaves help absorb some reflections that would otherwise create reception problems.
The leaves dropped earlier last year so the problems started earlier. This year they have been late dropping so the problem is just now starting. Last winter I would often pull in 45 from Baltimore when I couldn't get 5. I think that 45 is higher power than last winter so I'm sure that will continue to be an option.
Last night I noticed the Fox signal flake out a few times. I hadn't seen that since last winter. I presume that it will improve when Fox moves their antenna higher (I think in 2005). They transmit from much lower that the others.
BTW, I'm in West Springfield, so probably not too far from you.
