Well..
I did a bit of research on this, and if anyone is interested, there is a local place near me that will do not too small runs of case badges. They look decent, but not drop dead gorgeous. from normal viewing distances, they look great, but if you put your face right up to them, they look like they were output from an inkjet. That's the bad news. It has a 3D type look to it, since it is raised about 1/16th of an inch, in some sort of clear plastic. Standard case badge size as well.
The good news? CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! I figure about $1.00 US per badge... Now the only thing is they need a minimum run of 300 Badges. I figure with all of us here, we can certainly come up with 300 different HTPCs that need badges? I don't mind mailing them out to people once the run is complete as well... but I'd need shipping. I think I'd be able to just stick them into an envelope and mail them out... So probably be about 50 cents US extra?
So the two big problems I see are...
1) we STILL NEED A DESIGN!
2) how do I get payment? Paypal? Moneyorder? For a $1.50? CRAZY!
Perhaps a minimum of 2 badges, so then people who would feel comfortable mailing 3 bills, could do so... or perhaps paypal.
So post away if you guys feel like doing this or not... I certainly would for a couple of bucks... Would be the cheapest accessory I've ever bought for my HTPC!!!
