Is my PowerDVD the VR-X version?  

The installation screen shows this title:

PowerDVD 3.00.1307 (Dolby-HQ-Version)
VX 6 Chanel Version

It's a English version. Any idea if this is the VR-X version that everyone is talking about?

Your version is one of the fakes around.
PowerDVD VR-X shows 3.00.0115 in extended about-dialog. The splashscreen is in japanese.

Your version is one of the versions that does NOT register the AX-filters, and comes probably with a non-functional navigationslider (pop up slider).

I think the readme of your version says "Special Release for Dolby Labs" - but this is ********. Somebody has created a little joke with this faked release (well, he catched me too, the first time I saw this release)

I just followed BBQ's instructions.

Build is 0115 - some menu items are Japanese but you can work it out.

Video quality is WinDVD like. Stability is above WinDVD but not as good as 'old' PowerDVD.
