Yes it is. He was pretty confident it would not be fixed tonight.

Looks pretty good on the D* test feed.

Hey guys, sorry for going off and saying some stuff I said, anyways, back to what this forum is all about.

Tried the test feed and def works, hope they actually start showing the news in HD, and not in SD still. Def good news for some of the new shows coming out this season, I have Fox East and CBS East but ABC and NBC I was denied. So frustrating.

Seriously????

Have you seen some of our anchors? Please leave them in SD, or better yet send them to radio.

I don't see this conversion being made any time soon.

haha, well, i do agree with you herdfan, our news is pretty terrible. I love watching the news from Fox 5 East though, it's night and day difference. Even when I lived in Columbus, just everything about the news was so much better. WSAZ covers some of the dumbest things though, something so small they rush out and report it.

What's even worse is our newspaper here, Portsmouth Daily Times has turned into a joke as well.

Come to Parkersburg and watch WTAP or read The Parkersburg News, they're pathetic.Even one of the former news anchors that's on ONN says that.Like watching all of Fox5 east's news programs, except the morning news.About all they have on the morning program is weather and traffic updates and the ticker blocking 1/3 of the screen.

There are now logos on the HD local test channels. In fact channel 13 HD went out a few minutes ago, but said it would be back. Instead of just the figure 13, the station shows as 13HD. I think we are getting close to HD Locals on D*.
I am not seeing this, at least not on 3.
On my QuickTune menu, for Channel 3 it shows: The peacock (in colors) then NBC HD. Underneath it is the number 3. This showed up yesterday after the software upgrade. For Channel 13, it shows the CBS "eye" and then a very large, light blue, HD. The number 13 is underneath. I haven't captured 8 or Fox, so I have no info on those channels.

anybody know if WQCW boosted their signal? i am now pulling in 30.1 CW at 50%. in the past i was lucky to pull it in with a low 30's signal...

Hey loyalwvu. How are you getting the test channel for Channel 13? I'm not able to find anything that uses CBS for there sports lol. I'm getting the test channel for WSAZ and channel 8.
nm, guess I was too late with the tennis channel broadcast on cbs I'm stuck watching the Bengals in SD. Not that it matters, they suck in SD and HD lol

There was a college game yesterday that would have gotten it for you was well, but I can't remember which one.

After Wednesday it won't matter.

Lets hope!

I got the channel 13 test channel the same way we got all the rest of them. I did the ScoreGuide thingy during the US Open Tennis matches, I think. If it wasn't the tennis, then it was CBS football. Then added the channel to my Quick Menu. I have been away the past two weekends, and haven't captured 8 or 11. Still trying.

I know most of you may not be interested, but this weekend, the pitiful little Oak Hill station, WOAK was added to the HD stations on Suddenlink in the Beckley area. Since a lot of the college football games are on ABC, not having any HD in the Beckley area for Saturdays was a real drag. WOAK always preempted the WCHS feed on Suddenlink for football and other sports. All the other networks had been HD in Beckley for a long time, but not ABC. I was able to watch both the Virginia Tech / Nebraska game and the WVU / Auburn game in HD this weekend. Since D* is suppose to add local HD for Beckley at the same time it adds Charleston/Huntington, I think this is a good sign. WOAY is getting with the program, and hopefully will be picked up by D* in HD when the locals are activated.

Hooray, Their finally here as of yesterday!
I notice no follow-up reactions or comments about how they appear and sound by the faithful in here. They do fine for me, and is relative to about what I get with any DTV HD Channels, except WVAH FOX PQ is not as sharp as it is OTA and even softer with WPBY. The Sound on all the HD Stations is quite low and is about half the volume of the SD versions.
Anybody know whether WOWK (CBS) and WSAZ (NBC) ever sends out any 5.1 Audio Signals like WCHS and WVAH. I read somewhere something about the HD Locals are Spot Beamed, so are the DTV Satellite and Transponders located in the DTV Menu Signal Test? Thanks for any info.
The Celebration continues.

No. WOWK has never broadcast 5.1. WSAZ always used to until the beginning of the summer when they got the new equipment that lets them do HD graphics. They haven't broadcast anything in 5.1 since. I always thought they'd get it working again eventually but it's been almost 4 months now. It's probably worth bugging them about it.

As for WOWK, I suspect they're either too cheap to update their equipment or they just don't care.

Thanks for the Information, as that is what I suspected, and ditto to what you indicated about bugging WSAZ for 5.1 Surround again, and the thing with WOWK not caring, as I've felt that most general TV watchers around the area don't care about 5.1 either, or even much less..... don't even have the foggiest what 5.1 is.
I am told that the 5.1 will happen soon. they want it back also.. had to complete some other things in order to rework the hd path.

Did anyone have video and audio problems last evening during the WVU/CU ballgame on Suddenlink HD? I had to watch in SD because of the problem.
It was fine on DirecTV so it must have be a SL issue.
perfect for Dish.
Does anyone know which 1PM Game we'll receive through WOWK (CBS) in our Market on Sunday? I'm hoping it's the Patriots and Ravens
post #3660 of 3865
Bengals - Browns I believe.
