Ask and ye shall receive...
I phoned TWC to see if I could do anything to reduce my bill. For $146.79 per month, I had Preferred TV with DVR service, TV en Espanol (kids watch soccer and keep their Spanish skills sharp), an HD converter box, an HD DVR and Internet speeds of 15/1.
The woman with whom I initially spoke removed an erroneous $4.00 charge before I asked what the impact would be if I dropped to Standard TV with no DVR. Next thing I know, I am talking with a rep in the Retention Department. When it was all said and done, my Internet speeds got bumped to 20/2, I kept all the same services and boxes, added Starz and Starz To Go, and for the next year my cost is $115.93 per month. I'm happy with that.
In spite of the notorious reputation of TWC's service, I have had no technical problems at all in the three years I have been a customer. And now I can say that customer service ain't too shabby either.
