Finally got DD (AC3) thru a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

I finally got DD (AC3) thru the versajack on the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.

I just built up a new HTPC and tried Win98, Win98SE, and WinME with no AC3 pass thru. I have been working with Turtle Beach support and they suggested sending the card back to them for an exchange.

Before sending it in, I tried Win2K. I installed service pack 2, DirectX8 for Win2K, Santa Cruz drivers for Win2K and WinDVD. I got DD AC3 to pass thru http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

I tried installing ATI DVD Player 4.1/DVD Genie 4.0 and I'm getting audio stuttering on SPDIF output.

Do I need to install MMC 7.1? I just installed the DVD player.

My Santa Cruz SPDIF worked OK with both WinDVD and PowerDVD. Remember that you have to use a STEREO mini phone jack to RCA cable and use the RIGHT (Red) channel to connect to your receiver's SPDIF input.

I had a problem with the ATI DVD player stuttering and then locking up only using SPDIF on the Santa Cruz.

I fixed the ATI problem by replacing the Santa Cruz with a Turtle Beach Montego II Quadzilla.
