DVD recorder with progressive inputs?

Are there any DVD recorders with progressive inputs on the market?

Yes, the wonderful Philips recorders have this capability. Unfortunately they lack a hard drive feature and also, apparently, quality control. Frankly, IMHO, component inputs are an overrated feature in a consumer level DVD recorder (playback is a different matter) vs. using S-video or even in some cases composite inputs. People seem to be quite happy with the Panasonic recorder line which lacks any model that uses component inputs.

Vferrari, which model will let you record 480p? I understood them to only record 480i from the component inputs.

Yes, that is what I have found. No 480p recording.

My bad. Misread progressive in as component in. Probably need more sleep.

The new recorder from Philips supposedly writes 480P. This is a new model with a new feature.
