After a few months of using a Geforce2 Ultra based HTPC, i've decided to retire that pc to gaming-only status, and go Radeon (based on what I've read here repeatedly). I have a calibrated G-11 and will use the new radeon htpc for dvds, as a pesonal video recorder and for audio cds (through a lex mc-1 and all Legacy Audio speaker system.) I've narrowed my htpc choices to the AVS Pentium 4 elite or the Digital Connection DC Marquee. I want the best audio and video available today, and the best hd/capture card. The AVS htpc uses the Happauge and the DC uses the Access. What are the differences in the two? Will I be able to loop my DTC-100 through either of them and record Direct TV? Will either of the two improve the picture of a S-VCR or NTSC signal? Is there any appreciable sound difference between the Delta DiO sound card and the 24/96? Is there anything out there better than these two sound cards for music?
