Sorry your rescan was not successful. These channels are still unencrypted and a QAM tuner should be able to find them. Are you sure you are scanning digital cable and not broadcast (possibly called air or antenna) ? As dtv_insider clarified, this scan needs to be initiated from your TV's Menu or Setup function. Do you still get WSTR (64.1) and the range of ThinkTV (16.n) channels ? They were not moved and remain on QAM 102.
The channels that your TV shows you are remapped from the actual QAM channel for simplicity. If you had WLWT-HD previously, your TVs QAM tuner was finding it on 84.1 but showing it as 5.1 to match the channel identifier that has been associated with WLWT forever.
The new location for WLWT-HD on TWC is now QAM 75.1 but it will still show in the channel list as 5.1. Most QAM tuners do not show the actual channel, only the remapped virtual channel. I get actual channel information from software that uses a QAM tuner in my PC.
Unless you have a
notch filter that would be blocking QAM channels 75-78 a tuner that picked them up on the old channels should be able to find them at the new locations. If rescan still misses these channels, does your TV allow you to manually add channels ?
