Marantz SR7000: WHA audio using multi-room possible ?

Hi,

I know this is a real simple concept but am looking to implement a rudimentary WHA at minimal cost ... yeah , yeah , el cheapo :)

My needs are to have multiple rooms/speakers play the same music (fine for now) and I was wondering if I can use the Multi-Room option to do this. But I believe the outputs are line-level.

I was thinking of using a 6 speaker selector (sold by smarthome.com, for eg.) but I think this only does impedance matching but not amplification. Or should I buy an amp and feed the 5.1 outputs from the multi-room of the SR7000 to the new amp and then speaker outputs to the switcher .
Are these my only options or is there a simpler(uh,cheaper) one out there ?

Further, since I live in a 45-yr old home, am guessing I'll have to stay away from those IR-keypads hence is there any other way to control the volume in the various zones ? I guess I could use the receiver remote to do this but that would be inconvenient and centralized only .

Do let me know if you think I'm on the right track.

Thanks.

you can buy a cheap receiver or amp to run the 2nd zone from the marantz.from the 2nd amp, you can then run those into a selector switch/volume control likr the russound sdb4.1 or sdb 6.1
