Got Radeon going but need help with D-ILA/ISCO-2 aspect ratio registry hack

All,

With a lot of help from MikeM, (thanks again Mike), I got my Radeon 64MB SDR card working. Everything is ok except that I need help with the registry hacks needed for use with a D-ILA/ISCO-2 combination.

I know there must be someone out there that already has this figured out. Can anyone clue me in?

TIA,
Phil

Go to the Radeon FAQ , and install the registry file for "stretched" resolutions.

Unfortunately, this only works with Anamorphic DVD's and the ATI player. You'll need to use either PowerDVD or WinDVD and YxY for non-anamorphic movies.

David,

Thanks. Is it the one that is titled "unlock_aspect_and_unhide_video.reg"?

I'll give it a try tonight.

Dave,

I tried it but it still doesn't work. If I make the display windowed, it looks like an egg on end, (a little too tall), if I make it full screen, it looks like an egg on it's side, (a little too wide). (Perhaps visa versa?)

I think that it may have something to do with the fact that I don't have a monitor control file for the D-ILA. When I move the cursor to the right end the whole display shifts left, (is this virtual desktop?).

How do I fix this? Would a D-ILA monitor file do the trick? If so, could you e-mail me one?

TIA,
Phil

That's called a virtual desktop. Radeon does this when the tv output is enabled because it thinks the display can only do 800x600 (television). Disable the tv output and all willbe well.

karos,

Thanks, I have a feeling it might be that. I remember something about it in a previous thread but couldn't figure out how to search for it.

I'll give it a try today.
