I'll check Burlington, MA (a big store in a big mall) tomorrow. Obviously it was the INTENT to have every store installed so lets not mince words and get on with addressing the content.
Well I did. It appears they changed the box to a new set after they sold the set it was connected to and messed up something (what I have no idea). So I saw a box with a frozen picture, which I couldn't get back after changing the channel, and a lot of guide data. Box doesn't look that juvenile in person. They said the installer didn't leave the remote, but I'll take that with a grain of salt. Could the sat been down on Day 2, sure.
No materials there to "buy." One guy understood it was a front sale vs another who thought the process was the same as selling the JVC/Dish stuff (which was everywhere). Bottom line there is the sales force needs to be educated. Period dot.
My problem is I really would like a PVR version. I like the lack of locals. I can live without most of the channels that may be added later. But I want PVR/firewire recordability. I would probably grab it anyway, but need a Superdish to free up my 61.5 dish on the back of the house.
The jury is still out, but I like competition and I do not let my vendor preferences right early obits, even after seeing a non-functioning unit.
