New Kenwood 7000 home recv'r

I am on the edge on buying the new Kenwood home tuner but I was wondering how good it is for ~$300 and having the digital optical audio out jack.
If anyone gets this unit and can comment on its performance, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Honestly, I would just buy an XM PCR from the xmfan.com store...They are now selling PCRs with optical out for under $100. The only drawback is that you have to have a computer running to change stations.

I'd say having to use a pc to change channels is a pretty big drawback.
You can get one of the ugly looking Kenwood plug and play units for about $100.
If you plug and satellite radio through your home stereo, it will not sound great, you'll hear the compression quality loss more obviously than in a car.

You can get a Sony PNP for under 30, and then do a small mod on it to get optical out as well.

Just for completeness sake :-)

Thanks for the feedback.
I am really only going to use it for home theater applications and don't want anything for the car.
As for Sirius vs. XM, I personally like the music selections and more comercial free broadcasting on Sirius better, thats why I was opting for Kenwood home tuner. I also got the impression that although the sound quality on XM was slightly better (according to other posts) than Sirius, I also didn't like the tuner options from the XM end of things, they seem rather tiny and visually unpleasant in contrast to my home set-up.
But I am taking all of these responses into consideration and appreciate the feedback.
