Directv FSSouth and SportSouth channels:
644-1 FS Tennessee HD (Predators, Reds)
646 FS South HD main feed (Braves, Predators and Hurricanes replays)
647-1 FSSouth+ HD (SportSouth mirror since not everyone in NC gets SPSO as a local RSN)
648-1 FSSouth2 HD (mostly IMG Kentucky Wildcats Network material)
649 SportSouth HD main feed (Hawks, some Braves games)
650-1 SportSouth+ HD (Bobcats alternate, some Hurricanes games, both mirrored to 647-1. Here are also select Reds games)
651-1 SportSouth+ HD (Grizzlies alternate, select Cardinals games)
652-1 shared HD RSN alternate
(All Reds games are available on 661/661-1 FSCin with the Sportspack, at least they are here.)
Time Warner mushes this into a disastrous two-channel mess, 1508 and 1510 I believe locally in NC. I don't know how other providers deal with it. Splicing alternates over a main feed never leads to anything good, in my opinion.
Last I knew, Time Warner Cable in NC did not carry MASN, the Baltimore Orioles cable network, on the main digital tier, even though the eastern half of NC is supposed to be an Orioles market according to MLB.
I'm surprised to see that DirecTV carries some St. Louis Cardinals games on one of the "SportsSouth" channels. Is that just to keep some markets in Arkansas and Tennessee happy, or do the Cardinals actually have a following in NC? I don't really think of St. Louis as being part of the South at all, even though parts of Missouri are rather southern. I guess before the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta in 1966, St. Louis was the southernmost MLB city.
