Hello all. It's been a while since I've stopped by and just wanted to see what the news is lately here.
I too have cut the dish ditching DirecTV with its outrageous prices and poor quality content. Too much repetition, and not enough good programming. They may have 250 channels but only about a dozen or so are worth any note. The rest is a wasteland of sports and reality TV. The only news channel they had worth watching was LinkTV.
I now only have OTA and still watch some programs but the commercial networks just leave me disappointed. I find myself often watching PBS, they don't patronize the viewer and have some excellent hard news and docs still on Frontline and Independent Lens are two of the most outstanding examples with of course NOVA and some others. A good subchannel offering is called PBS World that airs on WNEG/WUGA DT 32.
Also I do continue to watch local news, mostly on WYFF, WSPA, and WHNS, rotating so that I usually see all of the evening newscasts from each station at least once a day.
One of the biggest disappointments I think is when NBC dropped Weather PLUS . It was one of the most worthwhile things to come to OTA in a long time. Now we are subjected to subchannels that are reruns of reruns , This TV, or on the O&O Universal Sports, and NBC Non-stop.
As I scan Youtube for clips of my former favorite network there are still tons of fans out there as can be seen by the numerous posts to those Weather+ video clips. They all wish we had Weather PLUS back once again.
I know there are more than a few fans of Weather PLUS that post in this forum and may be a fan of the music as well .
If you want to hear the production tracks that aired on Weather + from 2005-2008 or so, go to
615 Music.com and search for the "Positive Pop Grooves" album. Just about all the tracks are there and sound excellent directly from them. They even have variations of the tracks that were never heard.
Also a few more are from the Amp library albums . Search on the site: sneez, dj gruv, voccho, pyraflex, and the very first was Bermuda Square.
You can also hear the production tracks that aired on NBC Plus (O&O stations, not WYFF) from about mid 2008- 2010 by going to killertracks.com
