I was in Spartanburg Best Buy on Sunday, and these country guys had driven down from Tryon, NC to purchase a $200 Dynex TV. A confused DirecTV sales rep was trying to assist them, but was clueless and got scared away. They were saying all they wanted was local channels, mainly 3.1, 7.1, 7.2, 46.1, 46.2, 55.1, and 55.3. Another Best Buy clerk finally came over and said he thought the TV should tune in the channels, but wasn't sure without cable. Then the guys wanted a good antenna and booster, but the clerk wasn't sure about that either. I then told them the best antenna was probably the Clearstream 4, but warned them they may have issues with 7 or 13. I told them they would possibly need to add a VHF antenna to the CS4. And consider ordering a preamp from Solid Signal, unless they wanted to try Radioshack. And I told them to check Walmart across the street to see if the antenna was any cheaper. They especially wanted to watch MeTV on 7.2, and Jimmy Swaggart on 55.3, and we all agreed he still has some great gospel music. But just another tale of Best Buy being ignorant in regard to the OTA antenna option.
