All Panasonic Commercial 42" ED, 42" HD and 50" HD come with BNC Connectors
(as you mentioned the "Y" stands for BNC - "Z" for RCA ).

There's no version with RCA Connectors Available for the above Commercial Models (newer/older).

The 37" ED was the only exception with RCA Connectors on both Consumer and Commercial.

However, on 2003 Panasonic decided to include BNC Connectors also on the 37" Commercial TH-37PWD6(UY) . And there's no version available with RCA Connectors anymore for 37".

Don't know about future models.

So the TH-37PWD6UZ really doesn't exist.

Hope it helps. :)

Thanks for setting the record straight. I DID read several posts and discovered that the "TH-37PWD6UZ really doesn't exist." So I think I'm owed an apology, Brab.

Do you think that Dell is going to have any more sales where you can buy a plasma for 25% or even 30% off? Or do you think they have caught on now and will stop the coupon stacking on plasmas?

Bueller?

as a dell purchaser, i recommend you don't do it. Buy it from one of the forum sponsors. You'll have a better experience. It's NOT worth the cost savings

i second that....i just hope that i dont have any problems with it...i can't imagine the pain associated with that if purchasing it was so difficult

I stacked coupons (bought on eBay) back in June 2003 without a hitch, for a total of 30% off the $7200 retail on a 50" HD Pioneer and video card. Not a bad price at all, and I should have bought two more!!! Dell shipped it right out without a hitch. But times have changed, and I probably bought it below their wholesale price!
Free shipping was included, too, at that time... it was a SWEET DEAL!

Well dell now has the planar hd plasma 42hd for $$$$ delivered and the 6uy (wd) 42 incher for $$$$.. delivered

Thoughts on those deals

I'm unaware of any HD plasma being sold for what the Planar appears to be available for. I'm also unaware of other retailers who stock / sell the Planar, so that assessment may well be incomplete.

I owned the earlier ED Planar for a month, purchased for $2200 -- a record in its day. It was horrendous. It also has >>nothing<< to do with the current HD model, so, again, the assessment is definitely incomplete here.

Wow! $4500 for the 503cmx is a good deal. I purchased mine from Dell about 18 months ago. got it for $5100 delivered. At the time it was a great deal. It came with 5002 and extra year waranty.

What is amazing is that 18 months later $5100 is still a good deal. They really have not come down much in price. But I have noticed that retail prices seem to be coming down in BestBuy, CircuitCity, etc. When I purchased my 503cmx the retail equivalent at Bestbuy was over $11k!

Does the 503cmx from Dell come with the 5002 board?

Could someone please, please, please, please tell me if Dell's 17 inch LCD monitor (which has DVI-D) can accept DVI signals from a set top box (like a DIRECTV HDTV set top box)? Dell's customer service is singularly unhelpful.

Thanks much in advance!!!!

How do Dell's recent (E172FP) 17 and 18 inch LCD computer monitors compare to others of that size? Are there better brands?

In response to a request in a non-Dell thread I wanted to let people know that Dell has the Pio 5040 under their Healthcare section of their website. I think its under other sections like gov't and education too, just do a global search.

Regardless, I just called Dell's main number and while it took the sales rep a while, he finally found it listed on their system and he gave me the price the Healthcare section listed it at, didn't charge tax (so in effect I think I bought through their Home division) and he threw in free shipping too.

If anybody wants the rep's name and extension pm me.
Wow! I mean, you can get a 5040 cheaper if you hunt around, but not coming from Dell with their backing it up on issues/returns/etc.

Now if I only had THAT much money to spend on a display! ;) Need to buy a house first!
