Go to www.zenithservice.com
and call up the DVB318. You can download a PDF of just about every Zenith product there is from there, and you will clearly see...the DVB318 does have a DVI output among other things.
I am expecting that phone call from my Zenith dealership any day now to pick this puppy up. Last week, it showed up on his price list for the first time, at just about $200. So...that's a very good sign that this thing is about to hit the streets.
Cinema is right: Something could change at the last minute, but let me tell you something interesting.
Page 2 of this thread: I describe a conversation I had with a super cool guy that I got on the phone from Zenith. He basically inferred to me, and even said outright on some things, that the DVB318 might be able to play things that aren't exactly advertised. This was in reference to an SACD and DVD-a line of questioning.
He also was saying that the upconverting should work with just about anything, but to avoid lawsuits, they have to say it has certain limitations, etc. So, you can count on that DVI output working, and the components, and you can probably count on 1080i and 720p with most of your DVD's if not all of them. That's the idea he gave me.
He also said that it would be firmware upgradeable at a latter date, should the option be necessary or "something comes up."
