Comcast just started offering HDTV service here in Fort Wayne this week, and I was one of the first to get it installed. I connected the cable box to my HS10 projector via component cables (my DVI port is connected to my HTPC). I wasn't quite sure what to expect since I thought the picture quality of DVDs increased dramatically by switching from a standalone player with component output to my HTPC with DVI.
When the installer finally got the cable box set up and flipped to the PBS station showing hi-def demo material, I was floored! The detail and color were nothing short of spectacular! I have had difficulty taking my eyes off the screen since. The HS10 has taken alot of flack about the lamp bug, and while mine has started showing signs of it, I am thoroughly impressed by its handling of HDTV material. I know I will eventually have to send my projector to Laredo for repair, and giving it up now will be harder than ever!
I don't have HBO or Showtime, but the quality of the picture on the older movies showing on the InHD channels is amazing! Hi-def on the HS10 totally blows away DVD. It's going to be difficult to watch movies on standard DVD from now on. Bring on the blue-ray DVDs!!!
