I talked to the engineer for WGBA (26 - NBC) and WACY (32 - UPN) today and he stated that they are shooting for a mid-August full power HD startup - shooting for the olympics. They are currently broadcasting SD DTV at low power (he thinks about 10 -15 mile range). I can't receive it in Menasha.
I use a Hughes HTL-HD receiver for DirecTV and local channels. I live in Appleton and I have a UHF antenna in the attic above my garage.
I'm able to receive all the local channels digitally and channel 26 has been broadcasting HD since at least July 10. Channel 26 has the lowest strength on my meter reading. I get 60 on the signal strength for channel 26 and all the other local channels are in the mid 80's to 100 on signal strength.
I am 20 miles from the towers.
