If you decide to get a clip on (Terk TV44) and it works out, please let us know!

My Silver Sensor falters slightly from time to time but usually can be corrected with a slight adjustment. I'm guessing that it will continue to work just fine until my Superbowl party this weekend! Keeping my fingers crossed for the big game.

Good luck!

Interested in how people are picking up Austin HDTV signals in SunCity (Georgetown). Is the "Silver Surfer" enough?

Thanks for any replies.

When I was talking to the guys at TWC, they said they convert all HD signal to 1080i before it ever gets to the home anyway...kind of sucks since I have a TV that will do 720p.

If my TV will actually arrive by the end of the week I'll post and let you know. I'm in SW Georgetown off Leander Road. A little closer than you. I'm just hoping to pickup CBS for the weekend.

Oh well I am sure that we can expect to see them turn on high-power in the next day or so then.

Sorry couldn't resist.

Has anyone heard anything from anyone at KLRU other than there usual "waiting for an HDTV auto-switch" excuse?? This is ridiculous. They get us all excited about going digital and then no HDTV!! I could care less if they were digital/analog/fubar/whatever if they don't have any HD!

Thoughts?

So a neighbor of mine got the LG LST-3510A OTA receiver. We picked up the OTA stuff w/o major issue. Then we tried connecting his Time Warner cable feed to it and have the LG search for channels. It found several!

HDNET, ESPN News (switches to ESPN HD when they have programming?), some religious channel, another movie channel, and a few more

Why don't they have these coming through the regular feed? HDNET is showing a Stars game tomorrow at 7:30 so we'll see how that looks.

Also, is there anyway to get the LG to receive both the OTA and the cable signals simultaneously? We tried just using a splitter in reverse to connect both the OTA antenna and TW cable feed but it didn't work. The OTA reception got much worse and the cable channels were gone.

What do y'all think?
What channel is it reading for HDNet?. The movie channel may be HD Movies. HD Net is not supposed to be added until around Feb 4th.

HD PVR a week or so after! (Supposedly)

ESPN News is separate channel, I don't think it's ESPN HD.

Anyone know how to access hidden channels on a 3250HD?

Is there anywhere else that I can get the pace box for TWC? They never seem to have it in the lobby.

Wait till the 8000HD DVR is released in two weeks, then you will have a good chance of getting a Pace box at their main lobby, as many (including myself) will be swapping their Pace boxes for the 8000HD.

The SA8000HD has been 2 weeks away from release for the last 4 weeks. But I'm sure they really mean it this time!

bonoc, no problem.........I used my voice (well email voice anyway). Maybe my one email reached someone that cares......maybe the FCC needs to know how the FOX station here is "treating" its customers......you getting FOX-DT?

You kidding? You have to be living underneath that freaking "antenna" to pick it up

Just a heads up to anyone interested, I was wandering through Fry's yesterday and saw, for the first time, the Channel Master 4228 (the outdoor UHF 8-bay bow-tie) in their antenna section. They only had one on display, so it may already be gone.

Silver Sensor in Georgetown Information:

I am off 2243 (Leander Road).

Just got my new TV in, hooked up the Silver Sensor and pointed it roughly in the right direction.

I've got all of the HDTV OTA stations, except, of course, FOX.

I'm receiving KEYE tonight in Columbus, TX. I'm about 90-100 miles southwest of Austin.

I'm going to change my claim slightly. NBC is a bit choppy. If I play with the aim of the silver sensor a bit it gets better, but I haven't gotten it to lock in permanently yet. It will be clear for 10-15 seconds then block up and sound will cut out for a second. Then it will return to normal for another 10-15 seconds, rinse and repeat...

Weird that KVUE is broadcasting at 63Kw, but I get them crystal clear, KXAN is at 105Kw, but they're choppy.

Need KXAN to bump their power up to 110Kw or so.

Was the Superbowl sound actually in 5.1? I was only getting stereo through my OTA box and I read this tidbit elsewhere:

"As for the 5.1... CBS main feed used a Dolby E signal. If your local station didn't have a Dobly E decoder for the 5.1, you got stereo."

Was that the problem with KEYE's audio?
I was wondering the same thing.

But I wasn't getting 5.1 out of any HD station, OTA or DTV, so I was wondering if I had set something up wrong.

My stereo was indicating that it was getting the audio via the optical connection and I set my HDTV tuner to send Dolby Digital, but I was getting stereo only...

I was getting 5.1. I had crowd noise in the rears most of the time, and announcer voices out of Center. I have a Sammy Sir-T151 reciever.

I was here visiting with my daughter and family. They just recently purchase a Home Entertainment system, including 5.1 sound setup. Watched Superbowl on Sunday. There was nothing wrong with the 5.1 sound. CBS's setup could have been better, they could have ridden the audio levels more conscientiously and the audio cut out some during the half-time show. But the 5.1 was there just fine.
Must be your OTA box.

I saw Janet's 'exposure' during the halftime show and during a trip to the kitchen looked at my rack setup, sure enough the blue light on my Amp was lit showing a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal (doesn't do that with DD 2.0 stuff).

Huh huh, you said "rack"

I had 5.1 sound as well, Hughes HTL-HD box on DirecTV. I unfortunately only realized during the second half that I had my receiver set to 2.0 sound . Needless to say, 2nd half was much more enjoyable (in terms of the game and the audio!).

Anyone heard anything about PBS HD? Last I heard they were going to turn on before the end of January.... (yeah, right?)

Anyway, here's a link showing some of the upcoming HDTV shows on PBS:

http://www.pbs.org/digitaltv/dtvsched.htm

Mostly Widescreen Standard Definition, but some HD stuff here and there. I'm hoping we can get high def by the 10th for "NOVA: Descent Into the Ice".

I have the SIR-T151, same as Robert. I'm just going to assume my receiver was set incorrectly. Oh well.

Pdog,

I used the OPTICAL output. I haven't even tried the Dig. Coax output.... maybe that has something to do with it?
