). Unfortunately, here in Austin we have Fox on VHF-7 (idiots), so any UHF only antenna may, depending on where you live, compromise your signal on that channel.
As for positioning inside, I have two large speakers on either side of my set, so they made for a nice antenna stand, when I was using indoor antennas.
Yes, go outside means an outside antenna. Obviously in an apartment your options are limited unless you have a balcony facing the general direction of the towers. UHF signals are touchy, even in the digital era. About where are you located?
Getting outside is always the best call. FWIW, I've always had good luck with Winegard products, available in Austin at Fry's.
