Potential new lockup problem with Build 103

My unit locks up occassionally; it always locked up while channel surfing, and always ended up with the "live" logo on the bottom right (probably 10 lockups over the life of the unit, all the same). My unit just got build 103, and it recently locked up while viewing the channel guide, while I was hitting the "down channel" button to skip a few screens. Perhaps build 103 introduced a new lockup problem?

Of course now that I wrote this I realize all the lockups (old software and new) have occured while hitting the up/down channel, so perhaps nothing has changed. Just an observation in case one of the Replay gods is interested....

Same observation here.

I occasionaly get lock-ups when I delete a program while it is recording.

Sounds like a trend.

Yep me too. This was not an issue with the old software version that I knew
of because I used to do this delete while recording all the time if it was
recording some thing that I did not want or have all ready seen. hmm

seams like a new bug. When I try to delete any thing that is recording now
it will freeze up for about a minute or so then reboot it's self. How ever
it does not seem to do it all the time now. Maybe they are working on this
issue ?.

My unit that this is happening on is a Panasonic 30 hr
anyone else ?

Now if I can just figure out how to pause my work... or fast fwd to the end of the day

Have any of you tried a cold reboot to fix these problems?

Unplug the unit for at least 30 seconds....

Remember, it's just television...

For me the "hot reboot" does the trick. I hold the power button down for about 10 seconds.

Another "new" observation for the ReplayTV Gurus who may be working on this: the last time my unit locked up was on a cold day, and the unit had just been turned on; I doubt it is a unit "overheating" issue.

My unit locked up on me a couple days ago.... I'd had the unit on for a few hours (I usually turn it off between uses, but we won't get into that debate here) and it was about 10:20 when I turned on the TV to start watching some stuff... What I saw when the TV came on was a black screen, and at the bottom I saw the blue bar with a message to the effect of "It is now 9:59:55 Show X will begin recording in 5 seconds" The interesting thing was that the red record light was *not* on. Also, I couldn't do anything, the unit was completely locked. So I did a warm-reboot and when it came back up the record light instantly went on. Apparently it had in fact been recording the whole time, and ended up breaking the show into a 22 min segment and an 8 min segment in the Channel Guide (with about 20-30 seconds lost in between). Thought that was a little odd, especially with the record light not being on. Guess I'll just leave it alone till a 1/2 hour mark on the clock rolls around next time that happens http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Just got the "lockup while deleting a show that's currently recording" on my "2060" last night. Shoot. Had charged right through 2 months of uptime on a hacked unit, still going for broke, and here I blow it exercising a known bug. I remember thinking, as I pressed the "are you sure?"... "Hey, this could crash my Replay, couldn't it?"

It did.

Poor man's reset did the trick, and happily, it doesn't look like I lost anything other than the show I was trying to delete.

I have one thing to add on the lockup problem. I noticed this happens not when deleting during a recording but on these conditions:

Show is recording
Have another recorded show playing
Go to replay guide
Try to delete the show that is currently recording. LOCKUP TRIGGERED

For me, the lockup only occurs while another previously recorded show is also playing. If left for a minute, the unit reboots itself. Maybe I'll try to test this when I go home if I can remember.
