Sub-woofer in a different room than HT???

In an effort to have a really nice "clean" look I want to recess my TV and speakers (Klipsch RP-5)) into a wall that has a small "room" behind it. I love the way the speakers sound and they both have integrated 12" powered subs (I believe they are 550watts each).

I have attached a layout diagram of the proposed config. Is this going to sound like total trash? or may I be just fine? I know that I could disable the subs and get standalone subs but between the cost and the fact that this would go away from the look I want I really do not want to do that.

I think your base response would suffer if there are rear port holes.

The speakers are ported to the rear of the towers.

You'll probably get a lot of reflections off the walls, so the bass could be very muddy and/or boomy. You could always try it and see if it's OK.

You will have problems with the bass, and if the speakers are flush mounted to the walls then you will have problems with midrange and the highs.

In other words, the sound you love will be gone.
