This set goes to the dump the next time it needs a lamp.

I ordered the Philips bulb. I honestly can't remember what the picture looked like when it was brand new. But I was watching the superbowl at a friends house on a 37" Vizio. Man that was bright.

What is the contrast ration of the 50LC14??? Curious.

FWIW, I havent had any issue with my set.

I replaced the bulb after 10012 hours. WOW!! Much MUCH brighter. Now I can actually see some of the movies that I watch on the blu-ray!!!. WOW!!!

I haven't replaced my bulb on my 50LC14 since early 2006. The first bulb died within the warranty period(1st year) and was replaced for free by Panasonic.

You're either very lucky or you are watching a very dim picture. I've never had one blow but I'm on my fourth (and last) lamp since 2004.

Mine was still kicking, but it was very dim. I wonder if these bulbs burn out prematurely because someone touched it with there fingers???

I have 9204 hours on my lamp and its still going. The lamp has never been replaced. The TV has been fine until last week when I turned it on and it switched off almost immediately and started to blink orange on the power but has not happened since. I'm upgrading this summer anyways

Finally had my second bulb go out (at least I think it's the bulb.)

What's funny is that I've been tracking usage and had projected it to fail around June 12, 2010, assuming about the same number of hours before failure. It died on June 10.

This set is over four years old at this point and I've been through a few lamps even though I restrict ons and offs to once a day. The Phillips lamp is still looking good but it has probably dimmed 10%.

I hate throwing away a set that is still serviceable but I don't want to spend a couple of hundred bucks on a new lamp either.

My PT-50LC13 is 7 1/2 years old and the original bulb just burned out. Got a replacement for a hundred. After installing the new bulb, I checked the bulb timer. It was at 9874 hours.

I have a Panasonic PT50LC13 that keeps shutting off and the power button blinks 5 times to every 1 time the lamp button blinks. I tried the lamp reset and that did not work. does anyone have any help for me.

I junked my old Panny in favor of a new Samsung LED.

Why keep buying lamps for that old piece of crap?

..I'm only clocking in at whaaa, 8 hours a day? o_O

first of all my apologies for bumping such an ancient thread.. I don't know why I'm replying to this thread only that it came to my mind since today I finally replaced the Bulb on my Panasonic set

I was interested to find out how long it lasted.. 2004 my post was made.. it's now 2012.. wow, 8 years later and my bulb conked out

I guess maybe others would find it interesting how the "ancient" oldy sets are doing today.. the very 1st HDTV I've bought lasted 8 years before "it went dark"
