Sweet, thanks!!!

I went to Best Buy and saw how it plugs into the H10 DTV HD Receiver. Does it matter whether or not I get an indoor or outdoor multidirectional antenna??

Seems to me that most locations in the chattanooga area do alright (depending upon line of sight issues) with a decent indoor directional antenna. Virtually all of the transmitting towers are located in the same general area on signal mountain which is awfully convenient.

that there are no plans to offer any of Fox's HD programming via their digital signal (that they JUST got up and running) for the short term, and they may have no plans for HD indefinitely.

They are also not signing off on any waivers for DirecTV customers.

So I ask....what on earth can be done in this situation??

Sounds like Eastern N.C.; market 105... Viewers who want HD Fox programming are asking the same thing.

I also connected my Comcast cable to it and so far all I get (beyond the analog channels) is NBC HD and PBS HD channels. No CBS even though they offer CBS. uggghhh....this is no fun.

if any suggestions...I'm all ears.

The silver sensor is a directional antenna. Do you have it pointed the right direction? I would think PBS would be the hardest channel to pickup since it is the lowest broadcast power except for Fox. Or at least it was the last time I checked.

I forgot to also suggest that you move the antenna as high as possible in your house. It seems the higher it is the better the reception.

I know one guy that has posted in the threat that used one of the big UHF antennas on a tall pole was able to get Fox out in Harrison. Sorry I can't remember the model number, but if you read back through the thread, I'm sure you will find it.

Rekkapryde,

I live in Belleau Woods also. I just used a standard old Radio Shack antenna with an 80 inch boom length installed in the attic. I pointed it in the direction specified by the website mentioned earlier and all of the networks came in great. Except for our cheap local Fox affiliate of course.

what are the chances that WDSI gets bought out by a new, more progressive company??

I hate WDSI. I really really do.

I ECHO YOUR THOUGHTS WMESSIN: I sent Patrick Mobley an e-mail 9-11-5 I told him we were tried of being lied too. And if money was the govering factor for the delay in digital and hd brodcasting why don't they just sell out and that the public was tried of being lied too. I went ahead and got the local channels from directtv and wdsi signal was still a piece of crap on what suppose to be a digital signal.
What if enough people sent letters and/or e-mails to WDSI advertisers informing them that they would purposley avoid patronizing their company because of what WDSI is doing.
Just an FYI... I guess WDSI is officially the lamest network in Chattanooga. I just noticed tonight that WB (WFLI) is broadcasting HD. I found it very suprising since I didn't think that they were suppost to go HD until next year, but whatever, I love it. Now I'm ready for Smallville season premier.

BTW WDSI is still black in my house...

Matter of fact at 9 tonight every station had HD program except WDSI of course... Glad to see HD is becoming so popular.
I still have not yet gotten a single response back from WDSI's general manager. how's that for professionalism? And I was quite polite in posing my question to her.

What a joke of an outfit. I think it all boils down to women gaining power. Take a look around....Louisiana's fearless leader is governor Blanco, a woman (I can comment....I come from New Orleans and my whole family lives - or better yet lived there). If a man was in charge of WDSI.....

ok, time to stop before the wife sees this.

(disclaimer - this was A JOKE!)

I'm new to the Chattanooga area, actually in Ringgold, GA. I've been a Dish subscriber before I came here, but the house was wired for Comcast cable and internet, so I went that way.

I had a conversation with Comcast this week and they SAY that both ABC and Fox will be available in HD on October 15.

Let's see if that happens.

Ahh! But they didn't say what year did they!!

Not a good weekend for HD. WRCB (NBC) has not been broadcasting HD all weekend and it seems WB is back to DT and no longer broadcasting HD...
Anyone have any information on when WFLI and WRCB are going to be broadcasting HD again? I emailed them but haven't heard anything yet. I'm missing the new season in HD!

I just checked WRCB and it's in HD right now.

I don't have any info on WFLI, though.

Well it turns out that WB doesn't have as much HD content as I thought they would have. They are still broadcasting HD. It seems stuff I thought would be HD isn't... Good news there.

I checked my other HD TV and like you said it is receiving WRCB HD right now. So that means there is something wrong with my Pioneer. My other TV uses a Voom receiver.

Thanks for the info. I will have to figure out what is wrong with my Pioneer... This is the first time it has problems with any HD broadcasts.
I finally got WRCB working last night after having my Pioneer rescan for channels. That shouldn't have been needed, but at least it fixed it.

I got this response from WRCB. Glad to see he was so quick to email me back...

WRCB has added NBC Weather Plus to our DTV. It is located at WRCB-DT 3-2. This partnership provides 24 hour local weather as well as national weather. In a couple of weeks we will begin local inserts with our meteorologists. You probably need to rescan your channels so that the new channel is added to your receiver's line-up.

yeah, don't hold your breath. especially considering Fox 61 isn't even broadcasting HD over the air. I assume we might just see SD digital on Comcast if anything at all.

I'll be interested to see if the ABC affiliate actually makes it to Comcast. No reason they couldn't have been added 2 years ago. damn all "negotiations"
Well it has finally happened, WDSI is finally broadcasting at a strength that can be received. I won't be able to say for sure until tonight, but it appears that it is DT only and not HD. It is 61.1...

Probably not. The football game is being broadcast in HD but not on WDSI.

Yes indeed. I'm getting a good digital signal from them now, but their picture is awful!

Yeah and NBC has added local weather to it also. ABC seems to be the only one still showing DT on their second station.

Yep SNL looked great and was funny. Too bad I was so sleepy and didn't get to watch it all.

I wonder if WDSI has a plan at ALL to go HD. I can't believe they are the only network station in town that isn't HD. The engineer never bothered to reply to my email. Big suprise... Their loss... When deciding what to watch at night, HD plays a major roll.
Got WDSI OTA here as well.

I personally think that all WDSI is doing right now is simulcasting their analog feed onto their digital signal, which might explain the crappy picture quality.

And strangely enough, I'm all of a sudden finally able to pick up NBC OTA now too which for weeks I was unable to. I'm a happy camper now, WDSI notwithstanding.

Please don't expect to get a response from anyone at WDSI. That unprofessional woman GM can't even get off her lazy behind to answer a simple email. I might try to give them a phone call. If that doesn't work, maybe a visit in person is in order
post #238 of 2194
Also,

I spoke to the guy in chattanooga in charge of the HD boxes/DVRs at Comcast and he tells me that they are still in negotiations with the ABC affiliate and that no agreement has yet been reached. He added that he hoped they would have something done before football season but that obviously didn't happen.

So I'm venturing to guess that we won't see ABC-HD on Comcast on October 15 unless he was out of the loop.

Has anyone in the Cleveland area been able to get the FOX 61 digital signal. I have a antenna in my attic and am able to get ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and WFLI OTA in Cleveland. Just today found out that 61 is finally digital. Haven't tried to scan but did notice that WFLI showed up without scan with Dish 811. Will try tonight and report back tomorrow. Now that 61 digital signal is up when will we see any HD?
I live in Cleveland, but my signal is weak.

I'm using an 811 Dish receiver and my signal strength bounces between 58 and 62. I haven't been able to receive a solid picture yet. I hope they are not at full strength. Does anyone know for sure?

I receive all of the other locals very strong, between 85 and 92.
