Strange.

Must be something with my antenna. My dad next door still has great signal strength.
I will have to work on it tomorrow.

The winds may have moved your antenna...it happens to me too..I go out and armstrong the antenna mast just enough to put it back in its original position.

That's what I am hoping happened.
I don't get off work till 4:00 today, but the weather is too bad to mess with it now if I was home anyway.

Yeah I know! I was hoping the rain would be through last night and I could get some things done today....but the wx didnt co-operate...I had some scrap metal to take to recycler...but none of them are open on the weekends..Oh well, guess I'll have to cut some of it up and take it during lunch over several days....the rain is gone but the wind chill is 35 right now...not exactly what I like (and the heater is out in my SUV)

I had to put up my yagi style antenna again. My other antenna with the screen on the back had not moved any in the wind, but my new Dish box did not seem to like it.
Went ahead and did a re-scan with the yagi antenna.
Now I have channels 3 and 7 back since I have VHF again.

Well, I spent most of the day Friday wandering aimlessly around Fry's up on the North Freeway in Houston.

I have it on good authority that Santa will bring me a Sangean "HD" radio reciever for Christmas.

Fry's has a really nice selection of CM and Winegard antennas now, along with a nice supply of CM rotors, converter boxes, and they also had a CM OTA HD DVR (That may be the next "goodie" on my list).

All of this was near the front of the store to the right as you walk in, in what I would call the electronics hardware part of the store...

EDIT: They also had a nice inventory of CM pre-amps and distribution amps too.

Yea. I thought about 3.1 being mapped down after I posted.
Channel 7 was coming in great and I also was getting getting ION pretty well on 48 or something like that.

I know ION is on 49.1 out of Houston...not familiar with a 48 to the east but anything is possible...tropo has been good lately (but with the cold front finally through it may settle down until Monday when the next front pushes thru)

WPXL-50 is 49-1 in New Orleans. Probably just mistaken.

HD Radio?? That's like "Military Intelligence" or "Jumbo Shrimp"....just a flash in the pan It will die a slower death than AM Stereo did (no thanks to our "wonderful FCC" Geesh there's another opposite!) I would make sure the receiver has a USB port on it for a flash drive and it can play MP3 disk as well as CDs (though MP3 is not CD quality....but its better than MPEG 2! ) I am wondering when they will ever come out with a DVD audio player in the dash...4.7GB beats 800MB per disk anyday!

Considering he was pointed east, that would be the logical answer (Live Long and Suffer.... EERRR Prosper!!!

A cheap sort of look-alike Sangean HD item ...
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3899229
but I'm sure a far cry in the sensitivity and selectivity specs.
With a dozen+ local IBOC FMs taking out most of 600-kHz each the 80-db adjacent channel selectivity on my Sony XDR-F1HD is often largely wasted

Well, if does end up turning out like that, then I will just put it on display with my vintage UHF converters, and my pre-amp with channel 1 on it, along with my C-Quam (?) AM stereo tuner and my laser disc player. I can then, 30 years from now tell the young'ns you know what, "Once upon a time, there was this thing called HD radio..."

You have to remember if that is the 722k that you now have a splitter inside the OTA module.

Yea. I love the fact that it can now send the antenna channels back to my second tv as well.
For some reason nothing I did with the screen and loop antenna would work with the 722k. Worked great on my 622.
After putting the Yagi style back up my 722k is loving it. All local channels are rock solid in the 90's to 100%.
Not sure why it worked, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. lol.

Welcome. Glad to have you over here.

Just read on the Houston forum...they have a RF 7 now (Low Power...300w ERP at 1998ft in the Sr Rd farm!)...If you can swing your antenna that way, you might see if you can see it...(tropo enhancement would help)
And on another note, had to move the antenna a little more toward Mauriceville...12 is somewhat low in signal strength and pixelating...Usually I have the antenna looking ENE toward KVHP...but tonight it needed a little shove...KVHP is still reading good...12 is back over 70 (barely)....HMM wonder if they have a problem....

Channel 12 is my lowest signal strength as well.

I sure hope KBMT channel 12 builds out its 160 KW CP they have been granted. They have a little less than a year to do so...
If it expires, they can reapply for it and the three-year clock begins again.

That's good to know. Though I do hope it happens under the current CP.

Must be nice. Around my area there are little OTA resources.

Well, Fry's is well over 100 miles from where I live... So it is not exactly close, but then again, I have been known to drive to San Antonio to eat lunch before, so if I needed something on the weekend, or fast, that wouldn't stop me from running over there to get something I needed.

Otherwise, I am at the mercy of getting stuff off of the internet, of if I can get there before they close after I get off work, there is an electronics supply company (Ralph's) that does have some stuff on hand and they can order other things that are needed. Both of those options take time however, as you can imagine.

I was very impressed witht he supply of OTA items on the shelf for Fry's. I hope they continue to stock these items.

http://www.solidsignal.com/ is always a great resource....Fry's also has a web site; Frys.com - formerly Outpost.com - they had to go buy the Frys domain (though the local stores often have specials that are not available via the web site). 1st found Fry's in 1990 while in Santa Clara, CA for ROLM CBX school. Thought I had died and walked into electronics heaven

Did anyone notice KADN 15.1 during the saints game? It kept going out on both my AM21 and TV. Odd, because I always have 100% signal lock on it. Anybody have the same troubles?
