Love the "Phone Cops" episode as well.
Also love the Japanese tourist that " must have spotted a photo mat" when the "Godless Tornados" we're attacking.
Mr. Carlson having a Monkey on his foot when he used cocaine as foot powder.
Less singing his dream song about Mr. Carlson being a "Big fat Muffin".

By Radioshack 120 do you mean the 120" VHF antenna?
If so how easy was it to combine the Channel Master with that antenna?
Does it just attach to the front like the UHF part that comes with the 120?

I think you picked up on a very old post (pg 1 of this thread to be exact-almost 9 years ago )

Picking up posts is so easy to do, mine keeps going back to page 1...arghh... I really have hated this new software they went to and is the major reason I don't visit/post here much anymore. I've also noticed a huge decline in the OTA threads I would watch as well since the upgrade.

Ok since things are a bit slow right now, here are my latest Es catches via OTA from Jan 1st:

K06PM is on the air with a PSIP of 6.1 (same as KFDM) and carrying THIS TV. Excellent. The call will soon change to KIPS-LD

Wow! KBMT has added another sub channel to KUIL and K36 ID. Right now, COZI TV, is playing on 12.3. It seems to be a retro television network. MeTV is still on 12.4, My Network has been moved to 12.5, and Mundo has been assigned 12.6.

I live about 5 miles north of Silsbee and have yet to pickup 12.3 or 12.4. I can get 12.1 and 12.2 at 99 to 100%. Now they have 12.5 and 12.6.

You may be too far north and east to be able to receive 12.3/4/5/6... These channela are briadcast from two low power transmitters, one (on RF channel 43)located near Beaumont on Hillebrandt Rd. and the other transmitter (on RF channel 36) is located north of I-10 and east of Texas highway 62. I live in Groves and can receive both transmitters equally well under normal circumstances at a sinal strength in the 90s. I have a friend who has a cabin west of Beaumont off of Texas highway 105 and we can receive both stations there, although (RF 36 does come and go. SS on RF 36 runs about 60-70. RF 43 runs in the 90s.

At home, I am using a Channel Master 3671 high gain outdoor antenna. At the cabin, I am using a very old VHF only antenna with a high gain Winegard HD-9032 UHF only antenna stacked on top of it, and both systems incorporate a CM 7777 pre-amp.

What kind of antenna are you using? You can go to tvfool.com to see what stations you can get at your house. Please post back with your antenna model, and the NM calculated for your address and we'll go from there...

My avatar picture shows the antenna array at the cabin. The lower (VHF antenna) I suspect is probably 60 + years old or so... We "robbed" it out if my friend's brother's house. It was mounted in the attic. We bought him a new RS VU-190 near the time of the transition and installed it 36 feet high, also with a pre-amp.

Hey can someone in Beaumont verify something for me?

Someone in that area claims that 12-3 & 12-4 are now on RF12 (KBMT) while 12-5 & 6 are on the KUIL low powered stations.
So they're saying
12-1 RF12
12-2 RF12
12-3 RF12
12-4 RF12
12-5 RF36
12-6 RF36

true or bogus?

HHHmmm... That is an intetesting theory, although, I would think RF 12 would be bit starved with two HD channels and two SD channels... I will check this out tomorrow!

Yes. Indeed that is true! I confirmed it on my LG HDTV which has a manual tuner. When going to 12.3 or 12.4 and then going to the manual tuner mode, it shows RF 12. When tuning in to 12.5 and 12.6, and then going to the manual tuner it shows RF 36, or RF 43 respectively.

So, in a nutshell, 12.1/2/3/4 are indeed on RF 12. 12.5/6 are now the only channels on the LPs.

I kept wondering why I was only getting doubles on 12.5/6. Thanks to your question, now I know! I had not even considered the idea they could run two HDs and two SDs through one channel. I just hope it doesn't degrade ABC and NBC too much...

You are very welcome and thanks for asking the question! Again, I was puzzled as to why I was only getting doubles on 12.5/6 and had chalked it up to a glitch on one of the LPs, and did not carry it out any further... Interesting.

I can pick up the RF 12 station here in Anahuac, and after a rescan, it showed all 4 channels on RF 12. The 2 SD channels look OK except for video glitches every minute or so. Since I am using a converter box, I can't testify to the quality of the two HD channels. The video gliches show up on them as well, but not as frequently. Of course, the glitches could be due to low signal level, not encoder problems.

I am too far away to pick up the LP stations, so the 5 and 6 subchannels are not showing up.

They must be using a very high quality "statistical multiplexing" system in their encoder to make it look look as good as it is. The KFDM encoder has statistical multiplexing capability, but it doesn't do much with less than three channels, so I never turned it on.

FYI, the signal readings of the Beaumont stations here in Anahuac are:

KBTV: 61%
KFDM: 65%
KBMT: 40%
KITU: 65%

Good to see you! How's retirement? I was fairly impressed with pic quality yesterday myself, except for 12.4... It seemed to me to look like it was water colored or something. Not a clear pic at all, but the longer I watched, the more acceptable it became. I personally am glad to have more options to watch. I even saw some programming on COZI TV this morning with CC, so that is encouraging. I am hoping London picks up even more programming for subs on the LPs...

Well this week we finally got DISH to put Metv guide data up on the satellite. London broadcasting moved Metv and now new channel Cozi tv, to the same channel designation as their Kbmt ABC and Kjac NBC stations. I found this out when I couldn't see any picture or sound on 12.3 or 12.4 this week and my manual timers didn't fire for my shows on Metv. I rescanned and found when my ota tuner reached 12 , it found 4 channels . When I hit 43 on the ota tuner it found two channels 12.5 Mytx and 12.6 Telemundo fox. So once I rescanned and let the receiver go off for a while , it downloaded guide data for METV and for MYTX. Unfortunately Mytx was moved to 12.5 from 12.3 . So now we have Mytx guide data on 12.3 Cozi tv and NO guide data for Mytx on it'snew channel designation on 12.5. I found Telemundo Fox on 12.6 and it has no guide data either. I wrote an email both the dishquality@echostar.com and to my contact at echostar field office,but haven't received any response yet. I hope that we will soon get correct guide data for Cozi tv and move the correct guide data for Mytx to 12.5. But at least we got METV guide data ,after two years of me having to email and beg and plead with both DISH and Echostar.com to add it. I only hope it doesn't take another two years to fix it.

Well I am happy to inform you that Cozi tv has the Correct guide data on the satellite receivers as of today. My contact at Echostar confirmed it would be on all receivers as of tomorrow at the latest. I got the correct guide on my receivers right now. The Mytx and Mundo fox , I don't see happening any time soon. Due the dual status of them being broadcast on both 36 and 43 digital channels. But my contact did say they would look into it. I won't hold my breath. But as of today we finally have guide data for both Cozi tv and MEtv. I am very happy!!!

The granted construction permit fot the KUHT translator in Victoria was cancelled today. I hope the granted CP for Beaumont doesn't fall to the same fate...

It is awesome to finally have guide data for MeTV.
My dad called today to tell me 6.1 was not showing on his TV.
I checked mine, and sure enough 6.1 had no guide and was just a black screen.
DId not have time to mess with a re-scan yet. Maybe that will fix it.

Which 6.1??? We have two now you know... 6.1, KFDM (CBS) and 6.1, K06PM (This TV). I hate virtual channel IDs...

KFDM now just shows up as DTV in the guide.
I tried a re-scan at my house and my dads house and neither one picked up KFDM again.
This is on a Dish Hopper system.

Ah, OK. Thought you were refering to OTA signals...

I am referring to the OTA signal.
Strange thing is that KFDM 6.2 comes in just fine. But KFDM 6.1 just says DTV in the guide and has a black screen.
All other OTA channels work great as well. Even picking up channels 2, 20, 26 and 39 from Houston tonight.
