I had K46LG in my lists as being on Fremont Peak transmitting on channel 46 with a virtual channel of 43. I was told that was wrong by someone down in the Monterey area, and that the signal on channel 43 was KMCE, not K46LG.
My lists now show KMCE RF 46, virtual 43, transmitting from Fremont Peak with Azteca as their affiliation on 43-1, Mega TV on 43-2, Miscellaneous Programs on 43-3 and TV FE (whatever that is) on 43-4. I have a feeling that's not correct. Is that really K46LG?
Looking at the FCC records, there is a KMCE, but it's licensed as an analog station on channel 43 on Fremont Peak. They have two applications for digital operation, one on channel 18 and one on channel 43, both from Fremont Peak.
There is a K46LG licensed for digital on channel 46 with 15 kW ERP from Fremont Peak at 2247 feet HAAT. They also have a construction permit for a site at 3064 feet HAAT west southwest of Morgan Hill, also with 15kW ERP.
Since the FCC records are not always up to date, I don't know what's true right now. Is K46LG on the air from Fremont Peak on channel 46 or from the site ESE of Morgan Hill? (Is that the former KSBW site?) Is KMCE actually analog on channel 43 and not on the air with a digital signal?
CTEL08, what do you see on 43 and 46? Chuck, you seem to have a nice path to that area. What do you see? Anyone else have anything to offer?
From my home here in San Francisco, I get a nice signal from KQCA, virtual 58, from Walnut Grove on channel 46. Of course, channel 43 is KCSM on Sutro Tower.
one of our posters,DAP, is somewhere in the foothills below mt hamilton in east san jose and posted a pc tuner scan, and rf 46 is listed there, accompanied by all the 43.x subs that you listed. this was sometime late last fall, and k46lg-d from the santa cruz mtns only showed a couple days so ill assume that DAP was picking up kmce/k46lg-d from monterey county, especially since theres several other fremont peak stations listed there as wellhttp://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...69015&page=268
And no, i have nothing showing on my tuners as far as anything from rf 46 goes
im alot closer to fremont peak than DAP is but on the valley floor with a 2 edge path, so i cant vouch for k46lg-d or anything else from monterey county.
if the signal from the santa cruz mtns was live , im pretty sure it'd be showing up on my tuners b/c it would be my strongest digital signal by far, and the only one i have LOS to. however there is nothing showing up anywhere. i suppose it could be because all of my antennas are pointed north toward fremont and SF. I have a new portable tv with a mohu leaf antenna on the way so i should be able to verify what is going on 4 sure if someone doesnt beat me to it first.
edit: i think "Fe" is spanish for faith, so TV FE might be "faith tv"
