Norfolk, VA - HDTV - Page 261

Wondering if any other Dish customer is seeing wide signal strength variations on these channels. Both of my VIP722k receivers with OTA modules indicate strengths ranging from mid 70s to 80s to loss of signal within a few seconds. This causes severe pic breakups and pixelation or popup error messages. I had this same condition with 10.1 early on but that problem has cleared without changing anything on my end. All other locals are fine and the two in question are fine on my Mits TV. This is a recent condition. Any ideas? Has anything changed at the transmitters recently for these two stations?

HSN finally flash-cut on 14. Right now they are doing 480i SD...

All of HSN's digital stations are in SD.

Is it still on? No reception at my location. I would think at 15kw I's be able to pick it up, especially ff you were receiving it at your location.

It comes in fine here, signal strength is 60-65% with a powered indoor antenna.

No kidding. Honestly, I don't even notice what the format is, when it's news. I mean, what does it matter, really?

I don't really care about what the news looks like. It always sucks no matter what.

"fans can tune to a new Mix Channel format for late afternoon games. DIRECTV will continue to display its innovative eight-channel Mix when there is a full schedule of Sunday games, but when there are four or fewer games in the afternoon TV window, DIRECTV will display a new four-channel mix featuring larger video cells for enhanced viewing. For more information on NFL SUNDAY TICKET visit www.directv.com/nfl."

Long over due... This will be pretty cool...

On the house... the side NOT getting battered by the winds...
When I first got D*since in 2001 it was on my roof but then during isabel it fell and I was a month w/o service. But now it's on a pole on my back yard and works great!

WTVR is currently airing WTKR's coverage. The wind is making it impossible to keep WTVR locked, but I do have it in broken up. Happened to catch this perfect frame here.

D* is apparently showing WAVY to all on 259.
Yes any one with D* can watch local coverage.. looks like they switched to a Richmond station.

I got a nice email from D* this morning. It was like a making sure storm didn't effect my house and if it did they understand and will help me with my account. That was really cool in my opinion.

What the heck is going on with 27.2? The picture's all stretched out and the characters are looking like squat sand people. Certain local ads are fine, but the overall picture is stretched out.

Wonder what caused them to change this week.

Still looks stretched out and zoomed in. You could see it when they do the national ads and numbers/words are cut off which weren't before.

I HATE stretch-o-vision! The picture now looks horrible, I sure hope they go back to the original aspect ratios.

Re: 27.2:

Pic's back to normal. I would have posted it about 6 when I saw Three's Company, but I didn't want to be online with all that lightning and whatnot.;

... promo loop is now running on 31-4 and 17-4...
What's up with the local commercials on WTKR and WGNT? The HD/widescreen commercials on Channel 3 are all squished... Just saw the local commercials run on AntennaTV (27-2) and they too were all squished...

Screen grab with ID...

As of this moment on 10.4 and 17.4 there is programming but audio only. Doesn't sound like what would be on Bounce.... Just something to run before the network starts I presume....
