What happened to this thread? There was a page 206 last time I looked.
Apparently KMAY (NBC 23) is now broadcasting in digital, although none of the guide data, CC, and the like is there. It is the local 23 feed, and not just a rebroadcast of KCEN (although admittedly, the "local" feed just overlays the "23" bug and show local ads). It's also pretty low-power, about like how FOX 28 was before they upped the power (speaking of which, wasn't that digital microwave link from Waco to Bryan supposed to be installed by now?). I'm gonna need a better antenna to watch NBC without dropouts.
Also, widescreen content (network shows) don't fill the screen like they should. 23-1 is apparently 16:9 1080i, but widescreen shows are windowboxed (letterboxed inside a 4:3 pillarbox). At least 4:3 stuff (like local news) is only pillarboxed, as it should be. I can't receive KCEN 9-1 here, but surely they don't have this problem too?
There's also a 23-2 showing MYTX this TV, whatever that is (presumably it's the same as 9-2).
Now, if only ABC would get on the ball with HD. Given past history, I'm not holding out much hope for that happening any time soon, but I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised!
